Title need to be changed
Rohits's Method of outbounding,
So that people can search easily
Sorry to disagree. I think the current thread title, Outbound process for beginners, says it all
Thank you so much, this helped a lot, especially with providing a process of how to go about selling the domain
Great thread, I have 2 more pages to go but I wanted to address a few things...
I did a simple TM search in the USA and Realtor is only TMed by a Jewelry company and a Clothing company because they use it as a branded, proper name. The word "Realtor" alone cannot be TMed by a realty company since it's just a dictionary term meaning a person who sells/brokers real estate transactions. It's like Burger Kink trying to TM the word Burger. Can't happen.
The price of your inventory nobody's business! If someone is asking this question, then they will likely not buy your domain because they think you bought for $10 and are making a killing because they believe you're time is worthless. Only their time has value. They also probably believe that Domain reselling should be criminal. These people are communists at heart and are not a good lead.
You can either lie to them, tell them to hold a secondso you can look up that information, then say $250 or just tell them that you are unable to share confidential company inventory information. It doesn't matter what you say because the sale will likely never happen. Just be professional no matter how you end the conversation because they are already thinking you are a spammer, no doubt.
You have a very delusional idea of how cold-calling and business in general works. By not giving them any personal/business information, you are just another spammer to them.
Use your head.
You need to be more professional when you send business emails. Starting an email with "Hey" is very informal, unprofessional and childish. Try instead using their name or if you don't know their name or sex, try "Greetings, Sir or Madame, ". Well, some people say that is a bit too stiff, but it's better than "Hey".
Also, don't get discouraged about not getting responses after 10 emails. Cold-calling is not a cash cow or easy or passive income. Your response rate will be under 10% an your conversion rate much less than that.
For you, maybe. But it is obvious that to the OP this is his business and he is not the only person who is making this is business. If you don't believe me, read more NP forum posts
This forum wasn't started on the idea that domain reselling/speculation is "just a hobby" lol
Question: Do you use any keyword or SEO tools when you are looking for profitable domains to register for you outbound sales? If so, care to share which ones?
How about starting the message with :
To whom it may concern,..
Please forward this message to your boss/ceo.
I think I write interesting messages people want to read, but once they read,
something happens, and nothing happens: no response. I don't see their reaction.
but in my experience I know they have a reaction, unless they are customer service robots.
When using an .edu email, I was more likely to get a response. I could still do it, but
then my "job" would have to be something else.
Majority of the my work are done manually as with time you just get hold of the process and it does not take much time.
Though there are various tools which i use for different purpose. As for searches and cpc , you can install "Keyword everywhere" extension in your google chrome browser
BTW folks, I am wrong about the Realtor TM. It is, in fact, a trademark term. I cannot edit my post so I am making a new one. Realtor is not a real word and was made up by the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Many people believe that Realtor is a term that means "real estate agent" and it does, but that is because it is so old and widely used that people have made it a common term, like Kleenex for facial tissue or Q-tip for cotton swab. NAR has filed and won many UDRP over domains using the word Realtor.
Yes, I use Keyword Everywhere in Firefox. thanks for the reply.
@rohitgoyal thank you for the amazing post this is just a goldmine for me as I was struggling for the inbound sale, but this is the part of the process. Good thing is day by day I am learning many things from this dominating community.
Initially, I thought that selling domain is a piece of cake, but actually it is not. It takes a lot of time and this post will definitely help me to sell some domains. Thank you again and keep sharing more valuable stuffs
Welcome.. Best of luck
Rohit, can you point out what mistake/mistakes you would attribute to, due to which there was no reply on first 50 outbound sales and what was the change/changes which led to consistent sales later.
First it's been over a year so I don't even remember...
Second it's all trial and error... End user is the decision maker,, they may like useless domain and may not like good domain .
Third with time I have developed my buying skills, selling skills as well as automated the process...
Is it necessary to use Logicboxes panel based registrar?
There are registrars like Ionos.com (which I believe are not Logicboxes panel based) which provide 1 free email id along with every domain.
I see your point of using multiple domains for sending emails (in order to increase deliverability rate) but since I already have several domains (which are not geos) registered with them, I guess it'll make more sense to use them rather than buying new ones (only for the purpose of sending mails)
Your inputs would be appreciated.
so far the best and most detailed outbound tutorial
I have just shared what I have been using. There is no hard and fast rule that it's the only working model. You can try other methods and update us if it works for you.
Happy to help..
Thank you for this... I'm going to study it... Grateful.
thanks for point this out!!!!
Thanks for sharing outbound insights.
Who all would like to have part 2 of this thread which would cover each points in detail....
Would Be A Great Read Im Sure!
Always great to hear your experience and tips @rohitgoyal ! I think you're one of the fewest that came up front and told us all about your process, the good, the bad and the ugly of outbounding.
That would be really great. It would be a huge help for someone like myself who has still not sold 1 GEO domain even after several campaigns.
