Can you please check my math for errors.

Based on the English Language and number Sets I decided to sit down and figure this out.

1 Digit Domains (n)
There are 10 digits 0-9

1 Letter Domains (L)
There are 26 characters available

2 Digit Domains (NN)
there are 100 combinations of two digits from 0-9

2 Digit Hypen Domains N-N
there are 100 combinations of two digits from 0-9 using hyphen in the middle

2 Letter Number Hyphen Domains (L-N N-L)
There are 520 possible combinations of Letters A-Z and numbers 0-9

3 Digit Domains (NNN)
0-9 has 1000 combinations for 3 digits

4 Digit Domains (NNNN)
0-9 has 10000 combinations for 4 digits

2 Letter Domains (LL)
A-Z has 676 combinations of two digits from A-Z

3 Letter Domains (LLL)
A-Z has 17,576 combinations of 3 letters from A-Z

3 Letter Combination Domains (NNL NLN NLL LLN LNL LLN)
There are 46,656 total combinations of 3 number letter characters Domains using 0-9 and A-Z

Considering these as premium domain names there are a total of 76,044 character combinations. Excluding NNNN there are 66,044 total combinations.

If We now consider the main TLD extensions in use in the usa .COM .NET .ORG .BIZ .US .INFO .MOBI .NAME
We have a total possible domain registrations of 3 character domains at 528,352

None of those registries allow 1 or 2 character domains.
The .US registry holds a lot of the NNN.us.

36 characters * 37 characters * 36 characters = 47,952 possibilities
47952 possibilities * 8 TLDS = 383,616 total possibilities

That's if all NNN.us were available to be registered and the other TLDS allow NNN, etc.

Yep. There's also z.com, x.com, and q.com

I didn't mean allow, I guess. You can no longer register 2 character .com's, though. If they drop they should be gone forever. D-: (Or at least that's how I think it works. Someone else?)

Also, the title of the thread is "How many 3 character domains can there be?"
