I'm using AI (Claude.ai) for my domain selection appraisal's, potential value, buyer pool, used term, appreciation growth potential, selecting from thousands of available, different language, i find it quit good (my opinion)

AI does 100% of the domain selection for me

I'm curious if anyone else is using only AI for domain appraisal's? or how much use and trust with ai?

AI is only as good as the data and instructions you give it.

Most people are weak on both.

The more you know about domains (or any field), the more you realize AI often doesn't have a clue.

A lot of AI is just Dunning-Kruger responses, aka being confidently wrong.

The danger is when people don't really know about a field, they can easily be mislead by incorrect information and nonsense.

When AI can't even accomplish basic tasks properly, then doubles down when you correct it, it is not to be trusted.

In this case it is a domain, but in another case something like that could be disastrous.

AI is often incorrect, but extremely confident about itself. :xf.laugh:

The real gap in nearly all appraisal tools, and even in most human appraisals, is the absence of a holistic, portfolio‑level perspective. Domain investing is rarely about optimizing a single name in isolation. It's about shaping a coherent strategy across your entire portfolio.

Moonshots absolutely have their place, but they're only one slice of a healthy portfolio. The far more important segment often consists of domains that are priced for consistent, predictable STR, generating steady liquidity and compounding returns over time.

Domain investing is a very niche field with subjective values.

AI is always likely to struggle with a field like that. It is too nuanced.

When you ask about the same domain three times a day for three days straight, you end up with nine completely different answers. AI is not Healthy

Yeah, you can get very different answers to the same exact question.

Or, you can just use prompts that will tell you what you want to hear.

For many, AI is simply a confirmation bias generator. :)

Even as a "pro" it is hard to give a domain value, especially if it isn't some obvious liquid format.

I could tell you if a domain is worth owning, or what a rough likelihood of a sale might be.

But, there is no way any automated system can accurately put a price on some random domain.

I use AI quite frequently for various tasks. As long as you look at AI as a tool and critically review all output, it can prove to be beneficial. If you try to challenge one of Claude's appraisals and get it to raise or lower the number with a little debate, it may help you see either it's blindspots or yours.
