I'm excited about .blog except the one I want is premium over $2 grand so I won't be getting that one.
The most glaring mistake from these new gTLDs is the super premium pricing. They would make it up in volume if these were released with a slight premium and awareness would be much bigger.
They could always limit the buyer to 5 or less names. IMO that would help them a lot.
