Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship

Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

May I ask what price range you plan on selling these domains for? Are you thinking quick flips to double or triple your money, or are you hoping for $XXX to $X,XXX?

90% of what I bought is garbage I admit and I'll be happy to break even. But I've picked up one or two that I'm optimistic that over the next 2 years will get some decent interest. I'll advertise as open to offer. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next 12 months.

starting to see decent traffic on some already which is promising.

Pay attention to bots. Need to look closely what kind of traffic it is.

Any traffic you are seeing is bots I guarantee it. Happens as soon as you register a new domain. The stuff I've seen you post will never sell. I wouldn't take them if you paid me.

Sorry, but you need to read and learn. Alternatively listen to what people are telling you. The way you are acting you will lose 100 percent of your investment.

When I first posted my list here I was told it was mostly crap. And it was. Now it's not.

ASIAN MARKET.... VR + ### ?

We've all seen the China explosion on numerical domains... now it's getting to the point where the extension doesn't even matter as long as there's one, two, three, four or five numbers ahead of it.

Can anybody see potential in a .com

In the Asian/China market?? Or do you think that's too much of a stretch?

Cheers!

VR+N = Definitely.
VR+NN = Maybe.
VR+NNN = Chips only.

IMO. :)

VrApartmentTour.com

Just registered VrApartmentTour.com. A little long for my liking, however, I think that it is worth more than reg fee.

I wrote about this in more detail in 2 lengthier posts somewhere in this thread. I posted a list of Chinese VR Companies and startups already using VR+Numerics and posted some resources for domainers interested in that market. I don't know if we'll see the same explosion but demand is there and will continue to grow regardless of Chinese (but the more the merrier) imo. I've never been a fan of this whole CHIP thing and didn't take part in it but I am a fan of functionality. Short memorable domains are functional. You are on safe grounds investing in VRN.coms and VRNN.coms Got contacted by a big UK arts auction house for VR6X recently. So it's not just China as numbers can be representative of a number of things tv, Channels, cams, or just short brands etc. Outside of that, if you don't have a grasp of the rolls numbers play in China branding, I'd not stray too far from VRNNN with 8s or that have meaning because past VRNN you start limiting yourself to only the Chinese market and their appetite. With VRN and VRNN you're at least more global.

my 2 cents

Thank you so much for your response! It was extremely helpful and helped solidify my original thoughts on this... I have been following the Chinese market for about three years now and after meeting with Kevin Ham last year, I am more aware of the "good" and "bad" numbers in Chinese culture.... (at that time he had YJ.com up for auction at 4.cn, but he told me it had not yet met it's reserve price. Not sure if it's sold or not.)

I registered several VR NNN's the other day.... all NN's seemed to be taken... I don't think I will register anymore, but it will be interesting to see what happens over the coming months.

Thanks again for your input!

What would you say your top 3 VR domains are right now?

I wouldn't say I'm successful. I have made some $xxxx sales but I'm probably still on minus all together.

Two years ago when I started people were regging mostly VR + keyword and ignoring Keyword + VR. I was lucky to be able to pick up some names only because of that.

Some examples.

MotorcycleVR
PizzaVR
TexasHoldemVR (later I also bought VrTexasHoldem from a member here)

But that was two years ago. Since then people have been regging names like crazy. This is the most active thread on the entire forum.

You can still get nice names. Just invest in quality, not quantity.

There seem to be a whole heap of VR + 3 letters ,com registered.

VRabc,com etc....

Where is the value in these? I just can't see it.

Declined a low XXXX offer for DejaVR dot king.

Short, brandable, memorable, and a play on words. And the kicker: Deja vu is also a theme in The Matrix.

Too many hot points to let it go for low XXXX. Buyer respectfully declined my counter offer.

Was it first offer? Was your counter reasonable?

First incoming offer from this buyer was mid-XXX. I countered with mid-high-XXXX, and my last offer before declining was mid-XXXX. The highest the buyer could go was low-XXXX.

I'd previously had an offer (through Sedo if I remember correctly), months ago. Another inquiry through email before, but that conversation didn't go very far.

Including one I've had an eye on for a couple of months. Got it!

(And no, it wasn't your drop Rev! Lol...)

Lol...I didn't figure it would have been, as most of my drops have been rubbish.

Congrats on your name.

Wevr Launches First Subscription Service for Cinematic Virtual Reality

Virtual reality startup Wevr thinks it’s time to set a price for premium virtual reality content. The company announced the launch of a new premium subscription service for cinematic virtual reality Wednesday — a first for an industry that has thus far shied away from asking its small but growing audience to pay up for most non-gaming titles.

Wevr is launching its subscription service as a premium tier of its Transport app, which is already available for HTC Vive and Samsung Gear VR headsets. Vive users will have to pay $20 a year to access premium content like Deepak Chopra’s “Finding Your True Self” and Tyler Hurd’s “Old Friend,” whereas Gear VR users are charged $8 a year for content that also works on mobile headsets.

Great brandable name, I'm sure you'll be getting plenty more interest in that one.
