Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Was this the TM company you were referring to yesterday when you posted asking if it's bad to add vr to a TM name? Regardless, why chance it?

Just keep it away from the obvious, IMO.

...gl

No, but the same rule would of applied.

The company was I was referring originally was a very short acronym VR +xxx and less ambiguous and more of a risk so went with my better judgement and decided not to Reg.

HotwireVR or HotwiredVR would be in reference to a 'VR news bulletin' so can't predict any infringements as such.

You may never have any problems, and hopefully you don't. I really couldn't say anything more than exercise good judgment, and again, keep it away from the obvious, especially if you park it.

...gl with your names.

Sure, maybe it's just that I mix Techie circles too much but VDU is as old as computing itself.

Oculus Splits Into Groups Focused on PC, Mobile VR
Oculus, the virtual reality unit of Facebook, has some big changes underway as the company will try to accelerate its market speed and scale by establishing new groups dedicated to PC and mobile VR.
As part of the shift, Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe will be stepping aside to head up the PC VR division, with Jon Thomason, an exec late of Amazon, Qualcomm and Microsoft who joined Oculus in August, to take the helm of the mobile VR group.

Not a consumer term.
Imo hmd is also not a good enough consumer term but it got a far better chance.
Think Endusers and a name that will actually help them.

It's better to focus on the things that are hot right now, maybe start looking for terms in common among the VR startups and invest in those terms. It's better to put your money in quality names that you can hold for many years than to renew a bunch of crap domains that may or may not sell in the future. I've gone through the same path and have dropped 50% of my portfolio, and I'll probably drop another 10% of so in 2017.

If you read the forums you'll read the same tips all over again, it's up to you to act on it, but I don't blame you if you don't because I believe everyone must go through this phase when they start, just try to not spend money you can't afford to lose.

At the end, the experience you gain is ultimately the most valuable thing.

Good luck

I honestly can't remember the last time I used the term "computing"... xD

Listen to the advice my friend. Whether you buy good names or bad names, it's not going to have a negative effect on any of us. Both will drive up our prices. But, if you buy good names, you can make some $$$ for yourself as well. ;)

Oculus launches social VR hangout “Rooms” and phone call
[Rooms] gives us a physical place where we can all go, and you can have interactions like you’re inviting you friends to your apartment” says Oculus product manager Madhu Muthukumar. Just like in the real world, if you hang with friends in VR, you might want to watch TV, joke around, pull out a board game, or go out together.

Computing is a commonly used word.... With some calling VR the newest medium of computing.

Great to see a 4 figure nGTLD VR sale for once!

Super rare so I would still caution any noobs not to go trigger happy after this though.
