Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It needs time.

I agree. I believe in the tech and see it's potential in a few years, but it's all a bit novelty for me right now.

Just wanted to see if it's that way for everyone else.

Hi pros,
Which domain registrars are your favorites, in terms of cheaper registration and renewals, ease of use, promos, privacy and any other factor you can think of?

I got a bunch of domain names to register and your suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you!

I only use NameSilo - Price/customer service/security, find everything to be perfect with them.

I don't think they have many coupons though, but I'm done registering now so not bothered about coupons anyway.

I use Godaddy. Their customer service is great.

But hey, if you've got "a bunch" of VR names to register. Don't. It has been said over and over in this thread: "Buy a few quality names for more money instead of spending alot of money on many crap names".

Museum ? this is a very small part of it...there is much more business to do promoting hotels and resort :)
You are right on cue !
In the 90's I installed state of the art interactive video systems on cruise ships.
Part of the deal outside of offshore gambling was to allow the promotion of shore excursions to the travelers and it was a promotion that work very well. People suddenly became interested in things that they did not originally think they had a interest in. (edit: all from the comfort of your room TV)
When geo-location based events and even City's/town's get a grip on the capability to promote tourism and the production folks get a grip on how best to create that interest.... BINGO !
But I don't see it reaching even 10% of overall VR usage, it's still a lot of money changing hands on a new capability.

This is all MARKETING. It's not something specific for the travel industry. Yes, the travel industry is a perfect match for 360 video.

But marketing in VR will extend to almost ALL products.

360 video is one aspect of it, but there will also be 3D scans of products so you can hold the shoe in your hand before buying it. You can decorate your entire home in VR before ordering the sofas and wallpaper. All brand will want to have a "VR store" where they can showcase their latest products. Companies selling complex machinery will want to market them by demoing them in VR to potential custimers. Restaurants, night clubs the list goes on. Add to that all the advergames and traditional commercials. All of that is in the MARKETING niche.

The average person is exposed to 362 ads PER DAY. Of course not all of marketing will take place in VR but the best marketing will.

Even if you launch a GAME you need MARKETING. So that is why I keep going on about marketing :)

I'm happy some of my drops go to home to my mates namepros,I wish you luck with it.

yep... glad to give it good home too.. when you see a domain like VRfrenzy.com dropped and with dotster.com 1.4$ reg promo going on at same time.. it's pretty much irresistable.. when it's full price $8 regfee.. then you give it a second thought. ;)

cheers

Somehow I'm loosing your point.
'Everything' about domain names is about marketing.
While I do not care which industry is largest by monetarily means or scope,
I only need to know who needs to market products or services for what to capture that need.
But 'size of market' can help determine that demand / need. I'm betting on NAMES.
EDIT: Perhaps restate your point a different way ?

yes I did notice you like this word a lot.

imo VR will let you do and duplicate/experience everythign you now do in real life, eventually.. that's acftually the aim and name of the VR game as far as I am concerned. to duplicate reality down the road.. whether you wanna visit a jungle, or antarctica or mars.. or 5748357584 other things. so when you say its only about museums, and few other exceptions.. I see those exceptions adding up to about 47837483743 other things ;) but that's just my vision of fututre. I do not see VR is limited or limiting. I see the potential as unlimited really.

so yes I am all for VR+marketing being big. but you won't just market things you can do in real life (trip to paris or something) but also things you can do in VR. whether its your honeymoon, travel anywhere, museum, etc.. I see VR getting there one day. but I know its still hard to imagine now for people.

cheers, gl.

Yeah. I'm betting on a lot of stuff needing VR names for marketing purposes. That's why I got names like:

PizzaVR
WallpaperVR
WhiskyVR and so on.

If my thinking holds true it's a pretty big market for domains.

Hey, I have a pretty vivid imagination so I can totally relate. I agree that VR will eventually get to the "Matrix" stage (maybe it has already and we are in the Matrix)...but that will take a long time and I am not sure how interesting domain names will be at that point in time.

VRCenters - ArcadesVR - InternetCafeVR - VRGamingCafe .coms

HTC Opens First Vive Branded VR Cafe in Shenzhen

When it comes to demoing the latest in virtual reality, access and affordability can be a barrier for many looking to experience the range of content already available. And that’s where location-based VR becomes more important than ever.

If there’s one place that’s leading the charge to make VR accessible to consumers — it’s China.

VR in China is steadily going mainstream, thanks to hundreds of dedicated arcades and cafes popping up in major cities across the country. Most of these VR cafes charge visitors a fee to demo VR content for a set amount of time, much like you would expect from a more traditional arcade or internet cafe.

By eliminating the need for consumers to shell out hundreds of dollars to buy their own hardware and gaming PCs, it’s clear why location-based VR retail is gaining in popularity and helping build China into a massive VR market that’s projected to be worth $8.5 billion in just four years.

HTC is poised to best capitalize on the opportunity, with many of the VR arcades and cafes already open for business using their Vive VR system to power experiences.

Ive offered Vr.Domains to a few folks on this thread. What do you think of this domain for a marketplace? I need to renew soon. Think the trends has some more room.

I am not questioning your imagination. or anyone else's for that matter. I was just commenting thhat when you see it only good for a museum visit so u don't have to smell the stink of others, I see it good for 47384738473 other thigns too. I am not here to judge who has better imaginations. I just genuinely see unlimited potential of VR. it does not matter where you will want to go, or what you will want to do. that is simply the future I see for VR... limitless! so to me VR is more along the lines of: what exceptions will there be for which VR will not be used.. versus mayube for some others and you, wondering about the exceptions for which VR will be used..

it'll be gradual process for sure.. aka evolution.. its beginning now. (underline beginning).. 1 year from now it'll be more.. then I expect big changes in ~5 years. after that its anyone's guess about timelines.. domains will be needed all along VR evolution.. starting now... but... like you asked, will domains be needed 30 years from now or internet won't be around no more.. ????? hmmm... well.. that's anyone's guess like you say. but I won't care, cause I'll be dead in 30 years. so I hope to make few bucks on VR domains before that.

cheers

yep.. nice longtail indeed! good early sale for seller too! I think the highest virtualreality+kw.com reported sale so far!
nice.

marketing will be huge in VR. but it'll be only a tiny fraction of the things where VR can be used and find applications in.
