I know I'm late in the game with dubai domains, but after the recent sale of dubaiproperty.com and looking around, I watched this video tonight on the progress of all the construction and wow. Went on a small dubai reg frenzy to get my domain fix for the week :hehe: Nothing special I dont think but here they are.

No, that is the "proper" version - I have إمارات.net - Emirates.net,

the "proper" version means The Emirates. That one went pretty cheap if you ask me!

This one is listed on dnjournal too -

Theres only two ways to say Emirates, and these are the correct spelling:

The proper way: [ This means THE Emirates ] الإمارات
The "casual" way: [ This means Emirates] إمارات

As DubaiFront is a huge project, this is one of the best Dubai names I have seen here, nicely done My best two are burjproperties.com and tv.ae (.ae is uae extension).

The problem is, it is a nice typo, or short version, but it is Dubai Waterfront, and not Dubai Front.

You should be very careful how you go about developing some of them, the one above is a prime example of what not to do IMO - Damn, you are even using their Logo !

They might not have any trademark but their logo is their copyright (period) so is any text content (if you copied it ?) , you are also advertising the name for sale on the same page.

I would of thought it would be enough to show bad intent ? I may be wrong though - TM's, copyrights and domain laws etc can be a complex topic to fully understand.

I'm pretty sure you can use it ok for a different topic/use - but not that.

Dubai-Business-bay.com that i owned and Business-bay.com which i also own, i just sent an email to Businessbay.ae the official Dubai Business Bay site to inquire if they would be interested in them,

business-bay.com --> that im not worried about a trademark issue cuz a business bay is just a place where people may conduct business , a port or wtv...

Dubai-Business-Bay.com i think may be a bit closer to hint a trademark, but the thing is, i find the same argument can be made... saying that my intention is to develop it perhaps into a site to sell dubai merchandise or something... its just a business bay like any other, but because its dubai related products, it suits the name..
