I think many companies don't care about length. They just want the exact match keyword. Maybe for SEO purposes, I don't know..

This guy has sold the keyword "realtor // metaverse" in 4 different extensions within the last few months. He reported one for $18,000 & 3 others for $4500 each. Surprisingly the .com sold for $13,500 less than another extension, but that was a pricing error on his part..

In the 2000s people got married on Second life and it was only between real life citizens. They'd usually get together in real life with one of the spouses relocating. I think that most of these marriages failed but there are a few that have remained married to present day... To my surprise.

I think the idea that this sort of thing would become normal is complete nonsense though. The majority of us will always prefer the real world for romance. This fantasy about people living their social lives in a virtual world is a gimmicky fantasy that has been going on since the 80s. This is the 3rd emergence of that fantasy. It will come and go, over and over until the tech is advanced enough and real life is ruined by our failing ability to care for this planet to the point that it makes the virtual world more appealing than real life.

In domaining, there are more sellers than buyers. Another thing is the extension. Metacities in .com is a no brainer. But in .xyz, it's going to take a while.

Having said that, Metacity.com beats both options.
