discuss When was the last time you bought a .BIZ?

I was going through the recent .BIZ domain sales and struck upon the sale of Web.biz for over $19,000.

Have been wondering ever since, if .BIZ would be a good investment, considering that I take up some decent keyword from auction, or buy some from the aftermarket.

How has your experience been with .BIZ extension?
Is it an easy flip, a difficult one or a waste of money?

Your advice and views would definitely help!

When I was a newbie I registered quite a few .Biz domains. I quickly realized how much of a mistake that was though I did keep a few decent keywords. I dropped my last .biz maybe six months ago - horrible extension for sales. As others have mentioned, newbies are enamored with new TLDs but if they are so great, then why is it nearly impossible to sell domains in other extensions like .Net, .Info and .TV which have been around for many years? The last couple years there has been a runup in LL and LLL domains and sometimes they are immune to the baggage of what extension they are. Regardless, one should stick with TLDs which have a track record of aftermarket sales like .COM - not fictitious registry sales used to boost registration volumes.

Regarding keywords - conversion ratio is low here... up to 100 domains are needed to make at least 1 sale...

$19,000 is not too much for such a universal and great keyword like "web"...

I only have 3 in my portfolio, Latino.biz, DV.biz and the most recent buy was Santa.biz (which i bought around 2.5 months ago.

I would only recommend buying .biz if you can get really short and premium keywords.

I like BIZ if the SLD + TLD makes sense, which usually means the SLD should be a popular noun. I own a few like Valet, Sneakers, Teeth & Titty.

I only believe in decent keywords and .biz has good keywords, it is much better than having crap, long .com and worthless New GTlds, I own many good .biz keywords and selling them of, not big roi but decent to manage the renewals of entire portfolio
