Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Coincidentally I reg FirstBloodVR.com yesterday. Amazingly "First Blood" as a term is not TM by the Rambo franchise at least can't be found on USPTO.gov. except by a company not related to vr.

Best part?"First Blood" gets 550,000 searches per month.

Great brandable for virtual fighting game.

FirstBloodVR.com

The reason "First Blood" is not TM'd is because you can't trademark/copyright/whatever a movie title. (Amazing what trivia you pickup -- and retain -- while traveling along life's path...)

Book and movie titles fall in a gray area in U.S. law. For instance, although a book or movie is protected by copyright, its title isn't. Copyright simply doesn't cover titles.

And even if the title is distinctive, such asThe 40-Year-Old Virgin, courts and the Trademark Office say it can't be registered as a trademark, even though distinctive words and slogans can be registered as trademarks in other contexts. There's an exception for series titles, such asHarry Potter, but that's of no help to single-work titles....

Protecting the title of a film, television show, book, or other production is a legal issue unique to the entertainment industry. It is true that copyright law does not protect titles, but protection is found under the principles of unfair competition and trademark law....

Microsoft Announces Project Scorpio, 'The Most Powerful Console Ever'

Project Scorpio is official, and it’s coming in the holiday of 2017. Microsoft is calling it “the most powerful console ever.”

Of course, you already knew that—we broke news of the existence of Scorpio last month. But now it’s official. Microsoft pulled out a sizzle reel full of developers to talk about how excited they are to make games on Scorpio, and they’re saying that all future Xbox games will be compatible with both that and the older Xbox One and Xbox One S models.

Microsoft says the machine will run at a performance speed of six teraflops and support both 4K gaming and ‘high fidelity VR.’ They’re touting the new GPU’s power and speed, promising a major boost. “I think it’s gonna be magical,” Bethesda’s Todd Howard said.

Scorpio will compete directly not just against the PC but against Sony’s high-end PlayStation, codenamed Neo. Kotaku first broke news of Neo back in March, and Sony confirmed it last Friday, saying that they wouldn’t be talking about the so-called PS4.5 at E3 this week.

Here’s a video of developers talking about Scorpio:

Alienware’s Slick Backpack VR PC Shown At E3

There’s an HP backpack computer for virtual reality coming, but we just set eyes on the Alienware backpack PC and it looks svelte. Well, as svelte as a computer can be that you wear on your back.

Alienware’s reference design for its backpack PC made an appearance on stage at the PC Gaming Show amid E3 week in Los Angeles. While a backpack PC won’t work for the Oculus Rift because of its tethered cameras, destination-based experiences like Zero Latency in Australia and The Void could take advantage of such a system combined with the HTC Vive.

Enthusiasts and developers can also use such a computer as a new kind of portable PC that can be connect to a Vive for untethered VR and then become a desktop system when portability isn’t important.

The Alienware backpack looks extremely small. How long such a small device can drive a VR experience before running out of battery is a big question. In comparison, the HP backpack is targeted to last an hour and weigh under 10 pounds with backup batteries that let you swap out for a fresh one without turning the machine off. MSIalso announced a backpack PC for VR. So with three announced manufacturers, it will be interesting to see if any of them (or other still-unannounced backpack PCs) find a sweet spot between weight, price and convenience.

Oculus promises 30 VR games for its Touch controllers :)

·Over 30 full, made-for-VR games launching with Oculus Touch this year: Launch titles include Oculus Studios games like Insomniac’s Unspoken, Dead & Buried, Rock Band VR from Harmonix, VR Sports Challenge by Sanzaru, Crytek’s The Climb (now Touch enabled), as well as independent games like Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope by Croteam, Pro Fishing Challenge VR by Opus, I Expect You to Die by Schell Games, Luna by Funomena, Giant Cop by Other Ocean, Job Simulator by Owlchemy Labs, and Fantastic Contraption by Northway Games. Oculus Medium will also ship with Touch, which brings the tactile satisfaction of sculpting into the world of VR.

·Introducing four all-new Touch games, launching first on Oculus:

·Wilson’s Heart: Coming in 2017, Wilson’s Heart by Oculus Studios and Twisted Pixel is a psychological thriller with a one-of-a-kind visual and narrative style. It takes full advantage of the natural hand gestures made possible by Touch to let you fully examine and interact with your surroundings in the virtual world. You become Robert Wilson, a patient who wakes up to discover that his heart has been replaced with a mysterious device.

·Killing Floor: In Killing Floor: Incursion, a cooperative VR shooter from Tripwire Interactive, you take on the role of an elite soldier tasked with eliminating hordes of sci-fi monsters with guns, blades, and more. This Touch-enabled take on the well-known Killing Floor universe will take you to diverse environments and force you to scavenge for survival as you face an unrelenting onslaught of monsters.

·Superhot: Superhot is an over-the-top, stylistic FPS that blurs the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem. Time only moves when you move, creating a unique bullet ballet that is brought to life with Touch. Your every gesture and movement lets you dodge bullets, disarm enemies, and return fire in a way that has yet to be experienced in gaming.

·Ripcoil: Ripcoil by Oculus Studios and Sanzaru Games lets you enter a futuristic player vs. player arena where you can launch, catch, and punch a speeding Ripcoil disc. Control your body and hands in a way that’s only possible with Touch.

·Hands on with 11 Rift games at E3: Oculus is excited to share a few of their genre-pushing games at E3. Feral Rites, the action brawler from Insomniac will be playable for the first time; Ubisoft’s Eagle Flight will show off its latest soaring gameplay; and High Voltage Software’s Damaged Core will preview all-new levels. Fans of Crytek’s The Climb will also discover what it’s like to cling to a cliff face with Touch.

·Over 300 games and apps available in the Oculus Store for Gear VR: Oculus will also feature the latest games for Gear VR at E3

·Additions to Oculus Ready PC Program: Oculus will be adding new Oculus Ready PCs from Alienware and welcoming HP and Lenovo to the program.

‘Star Wars: X-Wing VR Mission’ Coming to PSVR, Free for All ‘Battlefront’ Owners

A Star Wars: Battlefront game was teased for PlayStation VR back during GDC last March, and we also caught a glimpse during the E3 keynote address, but we’ve today learned the name of PSVR’s Star Wars game to come, and it’s all about X-Wings.

Announced at Sony’s pre E3 press event, Star Wars: X-Wing VR Mission puts you square in the seat of your one and only favorite rebel force from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. To entice PS4 owners to get into PSVR, EA is offering the X-Wings Mission free of cost for all owners of Star Wars Battlefront on PS4.

PlayStation VR will be officially launched on October 13th. Star Wars: X-Wing VR Missions will be coming to PSVR “later this year.”

Munich airport has the MyAudiSphere – a place where the four-ringed models can be explored through virtual reality

The technology enables the user to simply walk around and even sit inside a completely simulated vehicle – but it’s so far only available at the Munich Airport – a busy German hub.
