Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Based on the PSVR price point and all the great content coming to to PSVR, I feel like there is a pretty good chance that it will be what makes VR mainstream.

JMHO, but I think VR data collection is baked into the cake when it comes to VR's future... Everyone is going to be forced to do it, especially once ads and paid-content begin to appear in the 'Verse and they need to track the metrics in real time... Also, with the advent of things like Microsoft Cognitive image recognition services (check out their new image recognition tool if you haven't already, very cool..), they're going to be tracking not only exactly what you're looking at in the 'verse, but potentially your facial expressions/headset-movement in reaction to it... And maybe even things like pulse and body-temp once you're wearing your VR feedback suit... It's gonna be a brave new world! (But NOT a private one...)

Of course, the good news from all this is that more ways they figure out how to monetize VR, the more valuable all our names become! ;)

Just a follow up here - Good news for those with names like VRanalytics/metrics/data etc... Bad news for privacy buffs...

http://fusion.net/story/312561/virtual-reality-emotion-surveillance/

Article quote:

"Carrier’s reaction to the video was being tracked by Retinad Analytics, which specializes in measuring people’s emotional reactions to 360 video and virtual reality. Heat maps of Carrier’s head movements were created using the gyroscopes and sensors in the VR headset. In more intensive Retinad tests, sensors track sweat, heart rate, and eye movement to see what watchers are interested in, excited by, or disgusted with. Eventually, they hope to understand exactly how the human head moves when feeling a certain emotion."

“I think if you can get into the mind of users and understand how they’re thinking about the environment, you just unlocked the whole thing,” said Retinad CEO Sam Poirier in April at the Silicon Valley VR Expo. “We don’t know how to do it yet. It’s still very tricky, but when we’re able to do this, the content in VR will probably be the best content across all media because it really will be adapted to what people are feeling.”

Congrats on one of the better long-tail offers I've seen... Did you pull the trigger or counter? (or push to auction?) BTW, IMO offers coming in on long-tails a great sign of strengthening VR domain market! ;)

capitalizing on the constant mention of the words (in this order) "Full Body Haptic VR". I would have gone...

FullBodyHapticVR.com but it was just too damn long for my taste so registered....

BodyHapticVR.com
HapticSuitVR.com
VRHapticWear.com

GPAVR.com (Educational VR domain. Grade Point Average - GPA)
GPROVR.com ( Grand Prix Racing Online VR - GoPro VR.com)
SherpaVR.com (A Sherpa is a mountain Guide. Let SherpaVR "guide" you to where you've always wanted to go.)
GPRVR.com (Grand Prix Racing VR.com or Ground Penetrating Radar VR)
MutantVR.com (Become a Mutant with special super powers in VR. or fight man eating mutants.)

UnderstandVR.com ( You will "understand" everything with UnderstandVR.com. great name too for a VR programming and design tutorial. as in you will "understand" VR and how to design your own VR application or game)

SituationVR.com (Remember the "Situation Room" in the Xmen HQ?. it was literally a Virtual Reality Room where Xmen could train for any "situation" this has possibility as a training application for Law Enforcement or anything that needs some type of way to create a situation to see how people will act in such a situation? such a program would have no better name than SituationVR.com

EnvironmentVR.com Need a change of environment? Solution? EnvironmentVR.com choose from a selection of Environtments City? Jungle? Alps? underwater? Space? This is VERY VERY Generic. coverts EVERYTHING.

BackdropVR.com - enjoy the View or the Backdrop with BackdropVR.com

StarGazerVR.com - wanted a "space" related VR domain.

CryptidVR.com - Vampire,Werewolf,Bigfoot, loch ness monster, Mongolian Deathworm, SheepSquatch lol, Lake Champlain monster etc etc etc. All fall under one category. Cryptids. a great VR experience could be created where you can choose which to meet or just put it on random and scare the crap out of you.

VisaVisVR.com - means Face To Face VR.com (Vis a Vis- 368,000 monthly searches)

TimeWarpVR.com - Go back in time and change the past.

TimeSpaceVR.com - great brandable with Space reference. TimeTravelVR.com woulda been nice but it's taken.

Sell any names recently? You have a big portfolio gotta have something going there!

Couldn't agree more... If you're not at least selling enough to cover reg fees. stop regging... (Especially at this point when all the low-hanging fruit is long gone...)

domaining is kinda like a slot machine, u pump $$$ in expecting a payoff be it small or a jackpot, the more domains/slots u play/reg in this example the more you think your chances for the payoff will be.

however

if the slot machine/domain names u r into is a lemon which most domains and slots are u will end up broke from feeding the slot / regging too ezily what u feel will be hot domains based onother domain sales in a niche like vr that's just in its infancy

so the trick is to either stay out of the casino or limit your cash input until a few sales r made before the rereg fees come due and eat up your funds even more if u decide to do so

its critical to have inventory but if u have subpar product in a niche that requires high end luxury models the chances r the inventory will be stale unwanted and then trashed

the qty of buyers wanting for your domains is so out of line with the supply that the odds of selling even 1 domain to recoup a fraction of the funds spent is in one word, gambling at best

regging 500 domains in one niche like vr is to say the least a huge gamble at $10 each = $5000 investment. after market purchases may have been the way to go instead but that's another issue

but as the domain king says specialize in a niche so that's cool but when does specializing become a liability due to the addiction of regging any domain u find available?

I decided to limit my portfolio to only dot com and around 75+- well researched vr domains eventually but I also try to hand reg as the news comes available so if a new vr product line comes up I can try to reg 1 or 2 in it like my vrbackpacks.com I regged it the same moment it first appeared in the news.

keep your $ in hand to reg as the niche grows and reg accordingly

regging vr this that and the other is too ez to do and a waste imo but what do I know, I haven't sold a vr domain yet either.

Well...Apple WWDC 2016 was a TOTAL disappointment, they didn't announced anything VR related, only improvements to their existent products.

Good idea of the day :)

Nyko Reveals VR Wrist Bands to Stop Sim Sickness and a Room-Scale Safety System

VR games have come out in full force at E3 2016, but what about accessories? It looks like Nyko has that area covered with some innovative new products.

The accessory manufacturer has this week revealed two new items that are designed to make VR a much more comfortable and safer experience. The first and more interesting of these is the ‘VR Motion Band‘ that aims to put a stop to one of the biggest issues facing the technology; simulation sickness.

Thanks, that's what I had in mind too looking at previous sales. I think even if there was a need for the name, the price would be low anyway.

Cheers
