ok have a look at the graph chart of LLL prices over the last few years here

http://3character.com/3-letter-domain-name-sales-history.html

shows LLL.nets miniumum wholesale value at $100 in jan 2004, one year on they were worth $200+ and now nearly 3 years on they are worth $700 minimum

so LLL.us sitting at $100 minimum at present, what do you think the next year will bring?

also bear in mind it took LLL.net's a year to double from $50 to $100 and LLL.us made that jump in 3 months

im very much awaiting 3characters monthly price update!

I honestly think LLL.us is more of a fad than a trend. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be on the rise, but I could be wrong, and I hope I am.

I don't necessarily think they're a fad. The computer world has shown that shorter is indeed better for the most part. I think 3 letter demand will continue to grow in certain extensions and the .us extension is one of those. The overall trend will continue upwards, but you may see short term drops and some degree of fluctuation. I don't think they'll go through the roof, but there will be a demand.

I would also add that the good letters/combos will tend to increase faster than the average/mediocres ones ;)

i agree they increase in $ value faster but i think its about the same on % if that makes sense

ie a good lettered LLL.us at the minute at $250ish, if it doubles, increases by $250, whereas a bad LLL.us at $100 doubling, increases by $100, but %wise this is the same

I bought some LLL.us because I believe in the .us market and I think that it will raise, maybe doubled as .net .

We have to wait for zastydomains to up-date his website in the next few months.

How accurate do you think 3character.com is?

3character.com #s are based off a number of recent sales, and it is the educated guess at what the worst lll combo would get at this time. Its pretty accurate, take all things with a grain of salt.

LLL.us seems to have stalled for a while in terms of growth in $$ so I'm not sure the next 3character.com update will be much higher. LLL.us drops are happening far less frequently than they used to though and I know of very few people selling quality LLL.us domains at reseller prices, so if there is any decent level of demand at all they should keep rising. Only time will tell, I do know that the traffic on my generic .US domains is steadily increasing.

Yeap, it does seem LLL.us are getting into the hands of the long term keepers.

As such, simple economics dictates they will rise in value all other things being equal.

It seems to me rubbish LLL.us are going between 150 - 225 and good letters are 350-500 to resellers. It is a reseller driven market, after all.

I think 3character.com is very accurate btw, people just don't interpret it correctly. It is the minimum reseller rate you should expect to pay for ANY 3 letter domain in that TLD. I'd say $100 is a pretty fair estimate for XZQ.US as a minimum resller amount.

i agree, very frustrating when people think 3character.com is the letter of the law in terms of value and dont actually interpret it properly either

Personally, I love LLL.us domains, and definitely see a great future in them. Once the extension becomes more widely known in public, I can imagine many businesses adopting the .us if they can't get the .com.

That said, I think that LLL.us value will continue to rise very steadily.

Well after it rains, I'm usually expecting them.

I've never seen a rainbow that I didn't predict.

I am thinking of selling some or all of my LLL.us - here is the appraisal thread - your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/261411-lll-us-list-for-appraisal-please.html

I decided to list DBX.us on ebay with no reserve just to test the waters on a LLL.us - take a look at the auction, it might give us some insight into what a decent LLL.us is fetching.

Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120057700427

it has no reserve - and I started the bidding at $99
