.cn -- Help

Hi Guy's,

I need to know are .cn a good investment?

I own some .asia and also looking at .hk for names but what about .cn?

Are they best developed? Parked? Where does the traffic come from and is it steady?

Love to hear all thoughts and what type of names to invest in?

Regards and Thanks in Advance,

Rob :notme:

In my opinion, i found .cn don't have much traffic, and the Sedo block traffic from China.
very true, and .cn investors/speculators need to fully understand why this empirical evidence exists.

also, .cn's are great for using as spam domains and other unscrupulous activities because of their low cost. the same has been happening with .infos... hopefully .infos will find a happier medium between the $0.99 and the $9.99.

But there are also many companies use .Cn domain names, especially.Com.Cn, which they think for commercial companies of historic reason and habit. So, we shouldn’t deny that .Cn is not a good country code.

The cheap price results huge registrations in a short periods, which will surely shows some negative effects.

How to consolidate the .Cn status, and develop in a healthy way, that is a question for CNNIC.

As we domainers, we just should catch the advantages of gov policy support for a domain name, right? Every kind of domain name has advantages and disadvantages on some extent, some period.

Can you give some examples please.

Like which names, where were they sold, to whom and for how much.

Vague generalisations don't really help.

The rapid development of .Cn domain names is because of CNNIC's promotion. With gov support and huge population foundation, the .Cn will have a bright future, I believe.

You got it.

.Cn or .Com.Cn , which one do you prefer?

.Cn domains include :

.Cn
.Com.Cn (mainly for commerical company)
.Net.Cn (mainly for network company)
.Org.Cn (mainly for none-profit orgnizations)

Among them, .Cn and .Com.Cn are mostly invested by domainers, which one is better is always a question, different people have different idea

Well, friends, which one do you prefer ?

Please let us know your choose and idea

Thanks

I would think for most countries, eventually the shorter second level ccTLD would be more popular. Simply because it means less typing and typos.

.in > .co.in > .net.in > .org.in

.cn > .com.cn > .net.cn > .org.cn

I'm sure if there is ever a .uk
.uk > .co.uk > .org.uk

But .Cn a little differs, because .Com.Cn comes earlier than .Cn, and in the past ,only companies could register it. So, for most companies in China, they are more familiar with .Com.Cn, and used to visit .Com.Cn websites.

However, i would like to hear domain friends' idea here

In my experiences, US end users and HK ,Taiwan end users prefer .Com.Cn , while some European countries end users prefer .Cn

I much prefer the .cn just like .us TLDs. I have been hearing that in some countries like Argentina they are used to .com.ar so I think it does make sense in some cases.

I should try the .com.cn domains since they will also work well for parking, but I will buy whichever is less expensive in most cases.

personally i would prefer .cn as it's shorter and noticed that it's getting more widely used compare to .com.cn

.cn is gradually having a wider acceptance level in china compared to com.cn, if they have their way they would even prefer to type all in mandarin rather than having to type .cn, smoething like IDN.IDN

dot cn is difficult to locate nice name or keyword, almost everything is register now ...

Today I was in a real estate and Chinese mood so I put them both together and hand regged these .CNs:

RealEstateFirms
RealEstateOwned
RealEstateLeads
RealEstateConsultants
SellingRealEstate
BuyingRealEstate

Do they qualify as nice? The Google Adwords value of the keywords "real estate leads" is very nice. ($26.52) :)

I have some .cn domains that I registered at Dynadot. Some I am definately going to renew. I was shocked to see that they are going to charge me $15 now (yes I have bulk pricing).

Is there any place I can get the renewals at close to my original reg price (and at an English/trusted site)?

Thanks
