Here you go, fear-mongers, peddlers, used car salesmen and attention-seekers: This thread is just for you!

Yes, you! You know who you are.. peddling your crap, injecting your agenda into every post or thread whenever possible, or showing up here every few months pretending to contribute to the domain investing community.

What about you too? The one's whom title threads with WARNING! etc etc only it turns out to be an inconsequential event that didn't turn out in your favor, thus by golly you better warn us all!

And of course, let's not forget about how .com is DEAD and the next big one is right around the corner..

My special little headliners, I repeat: This thread is just for you! Use it well and quit wasting our time with your silly crap elsewhere, because guess what?

~ WE SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU ~

examples welcome:

"Only .com! (because that's all I own)"
".Top is Top (I will keep posting it even though I just did)"
"Did you get rich? (oh wait, neither did I)"
"Thousands .Online (I'm not a hoarder but everyone else is)"
"Warning Warning (something didn't turn out in my favour)"
".com is DEAD! (and I have proof :-/)"

Get to it! Let's poop on each others BS!

❤️ , HotKey

And even then, how is .web really an upgrade over .net?

Brad
I would tend to agree that it's not. It's just as bad, and has the added bonus of nobody trusting it or knowing about it.

Joking aside, my feelings regarding .online are just a hunch. Whenever I see one of those domains I just wince, they just look cumbersome and unprofessional. I suspect that .online will be eclipsed by .web when that finally comes around to being... it's the same meaning but at least that's short and is easy to pronounce. Just thoughts.
.web will certainly takeout .website that's another rather cumbersome extension owned by Radix. If you listen to many ads on the radio or TV you hear the expression just "go online". A mega church down the road from where i live has a huge sign that reads; Visit us in person or online Sundays at 9:00 and 11:00am.

At least the keyword "online" is pretty much referenced everywhere we go. And with .com fading, .online is a viable affordable alternative imo.

I understand how the word online is used and that it is used frequently, because I have lived on planet Earth, but honestly it doesn't convince me. That's ok though, I wish you luck with your names.

It sure doesn't look like .COM is "fading" to me.

We can argue about this 'til the cows come home, but the proof is selling/licensing/leasing these domains.
Out of 3,000 names I need only sell a few to get my $$$ back, and the FACT that over 50% of the names I own are already in use for real live businesses is HUGE!

It's the monopoly Verisign who says we're running out of .coms (should have said running out of good .coms). Brad, i know you couldn't be successful doing what I'm doing, and I just thank God I'm not you:xf.smile:

And with .com fading...

Meanwhile, back in reality...

Verisign expects huge domain growth in 2021

http://domainincite.com/26601-verisign-expects-huge-domain-growth-in-2021

CEO Jim Bidzos told analysts that it’s now expecting its domain base to increase by 4% to 5.5% this year. Three months ago, it had cautiously predicted growth would be between 2.5% and 4.5%.

That’s a minimum of 6.6 million net new domains this year.

The upgrade was inspired by its first-quarter performance, in which .com and .net base grew by 4.6% when compared to Q1 2020, to 168 million names.

I will add .web to the $RICH mix, once it arrives. It is for sure sure to be the next top .com that we will visit online on the web and we'll all be rich in a year.

In legal documents released by ICANN yesterday, Verisign’s lawyers say: “The undisputed evidence is that Verisign needs a TLD like .WEB for growth given the decreased name availability in .COM”

Ben.....it really is a fact there's decreased name availability in .COM, but that statement needs some clarification. Over the last several months I've registered about 3,000 .online domains where the name left of the dot over 90% of the time has a .com equivalent. While fewer than 20% of these names lead to an actual website doing business, the vast majority of them are either "parked" or are "for sale" at brokers like DAN, SEDO, HUGE DOMAINS, BRAND BUCKET, GO DADDY/UNI etc. Typically they're so overpriced they just aren't affordable:xf.frown:. However looking at your site you actually provide affordable solutions using many different extensions. You have some real good names @ Genuine.Domains, but the typical "end user" doesn't know they exist:xf.frown:

Anyway, i wanted to compliment you on your site, and I hope that someday you'll blow the cover off the ball:xf.wink:. Good Luck!

btw, GenuineDomains.online is available to buy from GD for just .99 cents, and because you transact business "online" i think you should own it(y)

Good question..

From Domain Name Wire today;

"The company also announced that it expects an Independent Review Panel to issue a ruling on .web within 60 days from April 7. Verisign won the auction for the domain but runner-up bidder Afilias disputed the auction because Verisign bid through a different entity."

Glad you showed up Joe....and speaking of success, you might try contributing something/anything of value to this thread that a Canadian friend of mine Hot Key started. Good Luck:xf.wink:

Already checked that box!

Fish.online:xf.wink: this one reminds me of you Joe. I don't own it, but I own similar .online domains that make perfect sense. Living on the Atlantic Ocean the vernacular "online" happens to be very popular.

If you care to see an example of .com hoarding just go to Billfish.com and you'll get the idea:xf.smile:

I'm too busy getting a load of all this .online hoarding!

Rich, if you really cared about those poor end users who can't afford a .com, you'd promote other extensions pro bono, without trying to sell them yourself at a huge markup from registration fee prices.
