I have about 90 domain names at GoDaddy.

I login my GoDaddy account today and see only 66 domain names in there.

Where are my domain names???

I’ve have listed all 90 domains at Afternic.

So I chat with GoDaddy support manager and he is saying my domain names are in Afternic account.

I told him Afternic is a marketplace, not a registrar. Godaddy should have all my domain names.

He said you can transfer them out of Afternic and into your godaddy account.

I said I have listed ALL 90 domains at Afternic. Why are 66 domains in my GoDaddy account?

I said if you were correct, my GoDaddy account should show zero domains.

And this was a Godaddy support chat manager. First I chat with a normal person at GoDaddy support and he didn’t know crap so then asked for a supervisor or manager.

So does anyone here know why all my domain names are not showing up in my GoDaddy account?

Thank you for your help.

Sounds like a horrible experience with their support.

Can you show us some chats, without disclosing any private details?

Hope your issue will be resolved.

I'd avoid chat and just call GoDaddy. I did find it humorous how many times you told them they don't know 💩 though.

Maybe this is what the new Afternic Boost program is. They literally boost your domains away from your GoDaddy account. :xf.eek:

Wow, I guess Godaddy needs to raise their commission to BOOST the IQ of their support staff. :bookworm:

Lesson: don't have same Registrar for all your domains.

You'll be alright!

@anunt Aside from the support agent who indeed doesn't seem to get it, have you done some more research into the current status of the domains you're missing? Ownership, nameservers, registrar, last modified date, any emails GoDaddy sent about these domains? How long have these domains been missing from your account?

All the best.

Yeah, how about a "boost" in support quality?

The first line support is not exactly A tier.

Regardless of the registrar, this clearly illustrates how important it is to keep records of all your domains outside the registrar. For instance in a spreadsheet.

Did you receive any notice when they were removed from your account, or did they just disappear without notice?

All my domain names expire in 2025.
I have owned these same domains at GoDaddy for about 3 to 5+ years.
I have Afternic name servers on all my domain names.
I login GoDaddy prolly once a month, so have no idea how long they been missing.
I was searching for one of my domain names today and it was missing so I clicked on all domains and it showed only 66 domains in my account so I contacted GoDaddy support chat.

That's not good.

How about some research and explanation on what happened here? @GoDaddy

Do we all need to do an inventory of our account to make sure nothing is missing?

GoDaddy and Afternic are increasingly using the same underlying infrastructure. This means that many more errors occur.

There have been a lot of issues with "On Review" and "On Hold" statuses at Afternic lately. If GoDaddy removes domains with an (incorrect) Afternic "On Hold" status from your GoDaddy account without any notification, this is inappropriate. Due to the many bugs at Afternic, this now has more impact on the domains you keep at GoDaddy.

Another reason to get out of there.

I do inventory from time to time, and in the past I have noticed a missing domain here and there.
In your case, did you also have to contact GoDaddy yourself to have those domains put back in your account? Crazy.

Here is my initial conversation with GoDaddy chat support before they brought in the genius manager.
Enjoy!!!

The domain was eventually moved back to my account automatically.

It seems like a big potential issue though.

Let's say for instance I did all my renewals for the month while a domain was not showing in my account.

When it is moved back in, I might not even notice it was going to expire as it wasn't in the account when I paid for renewals.
