Looking for diamonds

Its pretty lame in my opinion that the ex. at the largest auction houses are basically doing nothing for names of this caliber. They are sitting on a gold mine and I don't see any action taken by them to promote certain high profile names such as the hot interest in .mobis.

Basically if a name gets a bid they allow the computer software to move it to the front page.

I wonder if they looked at all the .mobis as to finding diamonds and had in place the marketing team to contact the end users, (in this case the investment community) what would his end price be?

Good luck with your sale, if it goes for a little over ten grand, personally I would blame it on lack of exposure by the above explanation.

Sedo doesn't even do that -- the only auctions featured on their front page are .COMs! I wrote to them about this yesterday, in fact, and here's the reply I received today:

"Thank you for your email and for your suggestions. Currently, our system only puts .COM domains on the homepage auctions, but I will pass your suggestion on to the technical and marketing department. Although only .COM domains appear on the auction homepage, we have seen prospective buyers bid on domains that are not on the homepage listing within the last few hours of the auction."

Did you have to tell me that. Now I know I am wasting my time thinking auction houses are selling names in quantiy, lol

This really concerns me folks. The fact that many domain owners will sell a .mobi for a low price, because they are not getting the name in front of end users as that is the auction houses job to do. In more cases than not they are not showcasing the names.

Sure it is true it is also the owners responsibility to sell the name too. But it is commonly understood that is the job of the aucton house.. to sell our names that is.

Oh yes, some auction houses have a " showcase" area and a few names are in there.

But that is not what I mean by the word showcase. For instance the Moniker adult auction asked to see the "best of domainers names for consideration in the auction.

Why do we need to do that. They should have sales people crawling over our top names and recognize what is a top domain in the first place. I guess what I am saying is how come a aucton house did not see the name sportsbook.mobi and get the name out in the media, out in trade magazines and certainly touted by the sales force?

It also bugs me that some of us are going to let go of names that if "showcased" properly and by that I mean placed in front of the end users. So much money is not coming in because of non exposure.

my first thought is if they found good names and approached the owners to sell , the owners may many times say "ok I want 1 milion"...prolly would happen more than you think and would be waisting the auctions time. imho

Shame if it doesn't break 20k

It'll be a shame if it doesn't break 20k, someone's gonna walk away with a good deal.

Wish you were able to buy it back Frank.

I'm ready to be flamed here but I'm thinking dark thoughts about what Sedo or the other auctioneers could do w/it....think about it. If they see it's not getting the action it deserves, they could slip in and buy it cheap, then market it on their own to direct end users.....unfortunately nothing is shocking anymore.

Best of luck to you Frank!

Thank you daisycutter.

If I could buy it back, I shouldn't have sold it.
All my money is invested in .mobi, I can't buy others and develop names if I don't sell this one.

So, I hope the price goes higher.

Guys, don't histate! It's one time opportunity!

Go to bid for it!

The main reason I hope that you will sell this domain asap is because I am getting terribly annoyed by your spam. Not only are you pushing this domain on the forums over and over, you are also bombarding people's emails time after time.

If you ever send me more of those spam messages I will ask the mods here to ban you because I really don't think we need spammers here.

give him a break...this may very well be the biggest thing that ever happened to him and he's just trying to market the name as best he can figure out...to be honest if I had a name that good I may be doing the same thing...it's a once in a lifetime deal for a lot of us...it'll be over soon...good luck Frank

So you guys are saying that spamming is allowed as long as you make money with it?

I am one of the largest .mobi investors there is, which is probably why Frank keeps spamming me with his domain. And I might indeed have been interested, but the spam has annoyed me so much that I have decided to opt out of this one.

Nice. So you let your ego get in the way of making a good investment.

That's really wise of you....guess I'll disinterest you from looking at any of mine too huh _\|/_

Ah...why not playing basketball then ? :hehe:

I think you got a good point. Just entered namepros yesterday and I see invest.mobi everywhere I look...

It's a nice name, but Frank's overexposing it...

Hi hanogl, I'm very sorry for emails and breaking.

I'm lack of experience to manage a sale.

It's a big sale for me, so I want to make it out as possible.
And I don't make you big investors miss this sale.

I also recevied some mails to inform their sales, I didn't care a lot.

It's my fault to send emails.
I won't have another chance to send email.

I apologize.
