I just want one good domain name!!! That's all I ask for.

Why should I have to pay tens of thousands for a name that's been parked for it's whole existence? Why not sell to me at an "acceptable price"? or another person who will actually build the domain into a content filled website to take it out of the landfill it's in.

What if you were offered sex.com for say...$10,000.
Great buy, huh?
Then what would that make everything else worth???
Shi!
Do not wish for that, Please!
LOL

I wish for any and everyone to get boatloads of $
for all of the different domains they own!

Why ? because someone else has the lease rights to that domain (technically no one owns anything) And they can sell those rights for whatever they like as long as they keep the registration up.

Because a domain is parked means what ? Parking pages are legal and for all the parking haters if parking goes away you will just see a ton of mini sites, even a one page site that says "Welcome this is my domain and if you want to buy it make an offer" Put a couple youtube videos up even, but the fact a domain is parked means nothing. I guess people could say your house is a piece of shit, someone else could do better with that land so the county is taking it from you to give it to someone with some taste and a sense of style.

Lastly define Good domain.Cars.com, isports.com,babes.net,sexytv.com,bustyvideoclips.com All good imo but all at different levels of value so how good are you looking for? Because you came late to the game is no one elses fault. What is an acceptable price ? What you determine is acceptable ?

Good parked domains can make good money.. If you are willing to spend hours looking at expiring domains and such I'm sure you could find a good one :D

Honestly. There are plenty of great domain names to be had at stellar deals. You just need to look outside the normal spectrum. Very rarely your going to find a GREAT deal on a forum or Afternic / Sedo. Look "elsewhere" .... think outside the box. Be creative. Be Clever.......

Dont wine because your 10 years too late, be one of those guys thats inspires other people by doing great things.

And hey.. in ten years everyone will probably be whining about how rich they'd be if they were just smarter about domaining now :D

I believe that 100%. Opportunities are everywhere.... just depends on what sort of visionary you are.

Completely agree with FKA2000, I have found both VERY solid hand reg names lately (think forward) and had some very nice pick ups on expired names. It does take work but they are out there.

That said, the definition of quality domain differs from person to person. One person may require 10 dollars a day in parking revenue, another person wants solid keyword results for a speculative sale. But, with the right work both can be found and had at reasonable prices.

Another tip is work your way up, I have managed to move upmarket in the past 6 months based on moving lower end domains to give me the ability to either develop current domains or purchase up market domains.

Work Work Work!

Definition of Acceptable Price: A price agreed upon between a buyer and seller of a domain name which ends with a sale of that domain name.

On the contrary, for some domains, you can not sell them even below reg fee. That's another truth.

Nothing wrong with that. I've seen lots of people needlessly limit themselves
at times, and it sometimes doesn't help them resolve their issues.

Don't worry, you'll find one. Keep at it.

What might be more difficult is finding a good registrar

Thru a childs eye

Can we expect to get everything just because we want it?.

Control freaks have power and control only when all is organized to their demands. Before the do gooders gain power of the net they have to control the masses thru some emotion.

Guilt is one way.

My view is when all the domain haters go to every brick and mortor store and throw a tantrum in front of the manger and demand they stock every item the control freaks want in a store then I will listen to them. Make sure you haters of domainers at this time tell the store manager that since you had to walk into their store and did not find the item you desired that your store and all your stores you own should be shut down and given to those who can develope the store into the kind of store you desire.

Then I will listen to the concept that if a name is parked and has links on it that in itself is some kind of reason to forfeit my parked domain that I spent my energy working to accquire.

Parasites don't have to look like insects to be squashed. Domainers are strong as hell and we will kick hard. Attacks for ownership of domains and the rights to monetize those names will be defended in no less of a manner than burglaries in any brick and mortor enterprize.

If you don't want to pay thousands for a name, go out there & hand reg a good name. There are still plenty of good names available there if you search hard enough.

The problem for me is I find too many good ones but don't have enough money to hand reg them all! :(
