Reasonable price to ask for...

A parked domain would be?

Reason I ask, Ive been checking out what domains are selling for and what some are asking for parked domains. Some are asking 2,000$ plus for a parked domain. The names for these are o.k imo but nothing really spectacular.

I think I have reg'd a couple o.k domains myself being a newbie. A few are getting a couple hits also, so someone is checking them out no? One in perticular seems like someone has been checking it out once a day since I reg'd it. Hmmm........... maybe?

So whats a reasonable price to ask for a parked domain, no links, hardly any traffic, but one with a good name?

EDIT and PS- Got some paper mail from the mailman today from a company wanting $35.00 to put my domains in a search engine. Is this trash or worth looking into?

That's definately trash and not worth looking into. Like you can't submit your sites to search engines yourself. Not worth it.

I have seen people stating they recieved letters with socalled companies that would put your website on the top results on Google in less then a week for major competitive keywords.

IMO i never rely on ASKed prices... sometimes it's ridiculous

Since i watch the "domains for sale (fixed price)" on this forum i realise that some good names are not expensive on the reseller market...

But if you find interested end users... you never know!

Most undeveloped names are parked these days. It doesn't make much sense not to park one traffic or not. It gives the SE bots something to ponder over at atleast. How much would one be worth? That all depends on how much you or any other interested buyer willing to spend on it and how much the current owner is willing to sell for. As far as it just being a good name and having no traffic those seem to be the ones I sell for the most amount of money.

I think those with the high prices are more interested in the revenue from clicks than actually selling the domain.. then again, they might just be either hoping a sucker will come along or be complete idiots.

It really depends on a case by case basis. Do you have a specific example of a domain you would like us to comment on--it is pretty tough to speak abstractly.

hmm better read more in forum ..before regging blindly i wud say to newcomers..as ive been tru that few mths ago n i have to admit i really did learnt my lesson by regging crap domains n tm related domains.. dun need to rush into regging..there are still endless possiblities of domain names to be regged.

If you want a $ value appraisal for a particular name then you should list the name in the appraisal section.

There is nothing to stop you leaving the name in your back pocket, develop it later and list it on sedo now if you want.

I sell many names on eBay; the ones that I'm about to sell are not parked anywhere, but the names I'm holding onto for potential development later are all parked. It costs nothing to park, and there's the possibility of an offer, so why not?

Actually, the last couple domains I posted for appraisel were kinda blown off? Either no reply on $ figures or no really good honest appraisel was given. More like, yeah it could be worth something. Thats nice, but doesnt help much. And of course, I think their all worth millions
