discuss I have BEST DOMAIN NAME in the WORLD: Cryptᴏ.com (IDN)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
From the start want to clarify one thing: i work with SEDO.com from 2011 & made here all my notable sale . This is a discussion about my domain not a disccusion about SEDO refuse (at this time, i don't know final answer) to list my domain in "Showcase domains"category . I will work always trough SEDO because IMO - i trust in them because it is the most secure platform any aspects . So let's go a little discussion about my domain..

is the BEST DOMAIN NAME in the WORLD as alternative for original NON IDN Crypto.com?
Cryptᴏ.com

is the BEST/ONLY alternative for original NON IDN Crypto.com
Not say me , say SEDO - According to SEDO.com team/customer support my domain Cryptᴏ.com (IDN) not possible to put on section "Showcase domains" on front page because is similar/show with/look like Crypto.com (NON IDN).
I paid 39 euro in 24 april 2018 for "Showcase domains" section only for English(US) language & waiting that my domain be publish in this section.
Domain should be listed in 25 april 2018 (delay time zone etc..) but still not show in section so decide to open a ticket . Surprise - in "My questions" have a ticket with title "Alternative for cryptᴏ.com" open/write by SEDO team . I replay with this answer "Yes is BEST alternative for crypto.com" & then call to customer office & a nice lady person tell me will investigate because ticket was open by "Selling Domains" department.
Until 26 april 2018 not receiving a answer - so replay again to ticket opened by SEDO (that is strange):
"When will be listed cryptᴏ.com in showcase domains on sedo.com?
I pay 2 days ago & see not publish
Please list the domain
Kind regards,
P.S. innovice in atachment
" ( see attachment file here) & waiting 2-3 h & decide to call again to SEDO.com
A male person from customer answer, tell him about the problem & provide me this answer:
"not possible to put on section "Showcase domains" on front page because is similar/show with/look like Crypto.com & a potential buyer will not notice this domain (my domain) is a IDN" & if i received a email , tell him not recived any email with answer from SEDO.com
Told him that on SEDO are a lot of IDN including other domains with "crypto" give to him this example:
"https://sedo.com/search/details/?do...tId=257291357&origin=search&language=us&p=2_2 " + SEDO on every IDN domain listed have on right & below "Make an Offer or Buy Now" this memeo"
"You are about to bid on a domain name that contains special non-English characters (i.e. "ä","ö","ü","á","é", "í") and is an INTERNATIONALIZED DOMAIN (IDN)" . Operator reply to me in my case not apply & repet again : "not possible to put on section "Showcase domains" on front page because is similar/show with/look like Crypto.com & a potential buyer.." bla bla
"This is strange for me..i don't understand" i tell to refund my money to my Paypal account & say will do and we close conversation.
After only few minutes decide to call again & this time was the nice lady (i think is kind a superviser) & talk about my problem, she say listen all my convo with previous person & my case will go future to supervisor department & contact me short is possible with a answer possitive ( listed in showcase domains) or negative ( refund money) .
I think all phone convo are registred for prove.
I ask that the final answer to be send via my email . So now i wait the answer & also opinion of Namepros community about my domain: "is the BEST DOMAIN NAME in the WORLD as alternative for original NON IDN Crypto.com?" & how much should i sell, price..Matt Blaze recived $30 millions for his Crypto.com..

Kind regards,
Ovi

P.S. Show me the money :-P

To all those, who see IDNs, which look exactlyyy like "normal" letter - domains, principally / generally as "scamy", let me tell you this:

There are real, natural plants and there are unreal, artificial "plants" - made just for the reason to look like real, natural plants - and they are produced without any scamy intention - because they are offered / sold as what they are - namely as "unreal, artificial plants which look like real, natural plants".

Here is an example with real, natural bambus and unreal, artificial "bambus":

Show attachment 86351

The point is, that it's always only the offerer / seller, who is responsible how / as what he offers his commodity.
But the commodity itself is / remains only the commodity.

So there is indeed no reason to see an unreal, artificial "bambus", which look exactly like a real, natural bambus, as a "scamy commodity".

In case of domains its exactly the same - if a domain - offerer / seller offers an IDN which look exactly like a "normal" - letter - domain as "what it is" - namely as an "IDN which look exactly like a "normal" - letter - domain", then this is 100 % no scamyyy

So IDNs, which look like "normal" - letter - domains" are principiallyyy / generallyyy 100 % absolutelyyy OK ✔

i think this is a better comparison:

This is your opinion, me i have another opinion
I get this as a new niche otherwise if you don't try we will not know

This is not a new niche it's an old niche tried by many before you and once exposed for what they are people wise up.

Realy?
Notice you are on forum from 2003 (perhaps know more then me i don't know)
But that "CHIP" domain niche called that by a well know domainer ..that is a realy crap ..why? because Chinese language have vowels in alphabet in writing & reading - all was a bubble for rookies from China
𓃽.com ? you registred this just for fun? because IMO mean nothing

I certainly know more about IDN than you do that is glaringly obvious from your posts
Chinese language have vowels in their alphabet? I thought the Chinese language actually had characters, I guess one one of us is confused.

𓃽.com, it's from the ancient Egyptian language of Hieroglyphics. That is a niche by the way.

How Google & Bing index one of my domains (and zommed up to 500% no difference my IDN vs original) Cᴏ.com (XN--C-26L.COM) . Even you look/type the IDN in browser
I think a new niche, new possibility for devlopers just born
Because when you buy a domain one of reason is to develop that domain to put content/make a website

The thing is that not all IDN's are useful, something almost everyone in this thread is telling you. IDN's come in different categories:
 • Useful and potentially valuable IDN's being real words. Think of words with accents on letters or other special, non-ASCII letters.
 • IDN's that represent a symbol. Think of emoji's or for example monetary symbols like €
 • IDN's that do not fit in one of the categories above but look deceivingly similar to a very valuable non-IDN domain. Your domain fits in this category.
Domains from the last category have no valuable use other than trying to sell them to someone for a lot if money. They have close to no type-in traffic and are pretty much useless in SEO. They may be usable in a phishing operation, but they have no bona fide use. And that is exactly why SEDO does not want to promote your domain in a showcase listing. Furthermore, there is a legal aspect to this: Suppose they do list it, and someone buys the domain, they don't want to run the risk of being taken to court for misleading (because of actively promoting the domain in a showcase listing) and damage their reputation. And this risk is real.

Sedo tells you. Almost every experienced domainer in this topic tells you. But you seem to have decided upfront that everything that does not fit your explanation is rubbish. You think you own one of the best domains in the world, at least one of the best IDN domains in the world. Well: you do not. Everybody tells you but you don't seem to get the message.

My sincere advice is to stop chasing Sedo, not throw away any (more) money to "promote" your domain, and accept the idea that this domain is not gonna make you rich, at least not in an honest way. I would even consider not taking the cost of renewal fees and let it expire instead. This is my advice, and I think almost everybody will agree on it because it is a no-brainer, but from reading your previous reactions I suspect you will still think it is nonsense.

I am very very relax don't worry MVL , not angry at all
I just reply to your comment
"Nobody is gonna type an IDN like that in Google or in a browser" and this dear MVL ( i refer to XN--L3H.COM - do you think will type some one in browser ?"
Very good if some one have opinion long is constructiv and have a good point to debate, not a personal obsession with me aka WOT
All good's

Don't kid yourself You are of no consequence only the stuff you are peddling

As long as you and people like you try to justify these types of names I will continue to expose them and hopefully save a few people from getting caught out and losing their hard earned money..
Been doing it for some years now,and will continue to do so as long as they continue to show up.

It took me a character to character search to find out the "catch". The "o" in crypto is IDN.

But it doesnt look like so. In case of "ćrypto.com", however, at least the catch is clearly visible.

I think both you and SEDO team are right. If the buyer ignores the IDN warning it is his fault (your point). If the buyer is tricked into thinking that it is actually real word crypto (and IDN warning maybe a mistake) then he will certainly give SEDO a hard time once he realizes that he is tricked (SEDO's point).

So, let's see if someone else has a more straightforward opinion.

It's should not be allowed in the showcase, its clearly confuse buyer & there is 1000% chance people get trapped and buy it, not every people see the IDN warning.

If you have to explain why it is so great, at that much length, then bro - maybe it's not so great.

IDN = :poop:

Well said! IDN names are just another stupid addition of possibilities..not to mention the huge wave of crappy new extensions too.

I saw cloud.com (idn) for sale not too long ago. Had to double check as well. I get idns and they're great but these kind of domains have nothing to do with the reason why idns do even exist.

Imo it's just blatant trickery and they're of no use to anyone.

Well anyone on Namepros have right to make a post as he think - my post is very explicit Alcy
But thanks for comments - now i will go to eat strawberries & watch to "soccer"..sorry but is... football
Peace to all Namepros members

that is not true. on namepros you do not make posts as you please. on namepros you make posts according to rules.

when we want to post as we want, we open our own forum site .. then this is the only way.. and then we make our own rules :)

Imo typo domain is more valuable than IDN in this keyword.

I totally agree, never know why IDN exists & for what use !!
Generally, (the possibility for) IDNs exist because english is not the only language, there are many languages with "IDN - letters", for example the german language which includes the "IDN - letters" ä / ö / ü and there are many words which include these "IDN - letters".

+++

@Backorder-ing.com

I agree with @alcy that the title of your thread should already include the abbreviation "IDN".

You also should make clear (in your opening post) which part / letter of your domain is the "IDN - letter" and, very important, you should state the punycode of your IDN.

Last but not least, it would be helpful if you would have started your thread in the nP -
"IDN and Emoji Domain Discussion" - section which you can find here:

https://www.namepros.com/forums/idn-and-emoji-domain-discussion.113/

You totally missed my point, when i've said "never know why IDN exists" i was talking about the value, everybody knows about these characters ä / ö...
my problem is "keywords.com" keyword is idn while extension in pure english letters, if they had to idn the whole domain "www" in idn keywords in idn ".com" in idn then it maybe ok , but جيد.com arabic example, it's very confusing arabic language starts from right to left the opposite of english".com" & thats only one of many problems that idn creates!

I missed nothing, I just answered your question.

But sure, there are many "types" of IDNs and I have used the "simplest" ones (ä / ö / ü) so I understand your point.
I just don't see any problem, IDN's are simply made for those who use them - and those who use them, will have no problem with them.
I don't think, that arabic or chinese or any other language ("IDN - letters"), combined with a non IDN - TLD, is confusing.

As long as an offered IDN is clearly explained, there is absolutely no problem.
IDNs are like "detailed domains" and if you are aware of it's details, you are aware of its value.

i'm a native arabic speaker, i've never seen any company / individual using an idn domain in all arabic speaking countries!
And?
What is your problem now?
Just because you haven't seen one, doesn't mean that they don't exist or makes them "bad".
They are a good invention, it's great to have the possibility to create arabic / chinese / ... domains.
Especially for arabic / chinese / ... people.
You are not forced to use them.

Not really, they are simply made for those who like them.
Like art.

It's always possible that somone want's to buy a domain just to own it for his enjoyment or as an investment (like an art - collector buys art to own it for his enjoyment or as an investment) because he finds it attractive, no matter how "complicated" / expensive it is.

Not "every domain" is made for "everyone", I also don't like every domain - but I have no problem with those I don't like.

There's a seat for every ass.

The title of the thread is: I have best domain name in the world. If the name really was crypto.com, you could make the argument that today it is one of the most valuable.

Nobody, not even you, could argue with a straight face that your IDN is one of the top 10,000 in the world.

I think that is where your post went wrong, with the intention and the title.

I also agree that Sedo was right. Why would they want to bring that possible mess upon their own heads?

Why? because other people see potential & other don't?
Why? because SEDO basic say in this word "is identic & alternative with crypto.com but is a IDN)
I don't think is a reason in this to hurting my credibility . It's a free market (at general mode) if you pay you have the domain ( & just for the record - i managed domin names portfolios for another 2 people - acces registrat, access marketplaces etc. so who knows me can trust in me - domains & money)

just curious, what are you looking to get out of it? hundreds? thousands? millions?

The moral part (which is of course the most important one) of matters like this one is actuallyyy very simple.

If a "copy" (of whatever) is presented as "original", there is clearlyyy a problem.
But if a "copy"
(of whatever) is presented as a "copy", then there is nooo problem.

So, in case of your IDN (and generally IDNs), @Sedo simply could have placed your IDN into their showcase, directly labeled with "IDN" (directly beside the IDN, directly in the showcase) - in my eyes this could be the solution for "SEDO / IDN / SHOWCASE" - matters.

My very own opinion:

IDNs that are totally visible and creates words in another language: Great!
IDNs that are created to make people think / guess it is another word: Scammy!
An opinion I share 100%.

you can try i guess.

I thought you were going to leave it to the "potential" buyer to determine its value, yet you set a reserve 10-25k?

in any case, best of luck. keep us informed please. :xf.smile:
