I have found domain that consists of 2 saleable words but they are split with a hyphen.
It is a .com domain, will the hyphen devalue the domain alot???

The hyphen domain I own with best traffic is

3-Devices.com

Hoping to ride the 3d wave & maybe the hyphen market at same time now frank-germany has shown the potential for sales is still there in hyphens!

Thx for that fg!

i Would also add that not only Deustchland like Hypen domains but also France, UK and Italy.
Obviously Germany is more over the others european country. So for resale, the hypen in general devalue the price but you can still make a nice profit depending on the price. If you wanna target European market you surely have higher chances to make a profit.

If you find a domains name with hypens (1 or more) and you wanna monetize it for parking revenues, there is no devalue at all!
Just a hint, if the name have more than 1 hypens check it if it is faillisted and if it is, change your mood and buy it only if you expect to make money with zeroclick.

I sell every month at least 1 or 2 hyphen domains....
The highest hyphen domain sale I ever had was this year Photo hyphen Tours.com for $9000, and I picked it up for $12@ Godaddy drops.
I own 5 category killers hyphen names and I got 5k-8k offers coming in this year alone.
I think you guys forget that your domain is worth ONLY WORTH WHAT somebody else is willing to pay.
Your perceived value for Photo-Tours.com might be $100, but to the Swiss endures it was worth over 10k...

Maxtorz

Can u say what venue you sold them at or was it direct contact with end buyer:xf.grin:?

Congrats on your success!

Direct contact with endusers all of them.
Last 2 weeks hypen sales:
Diabetes hyphen software dot com sold to a german enduser and software company
London hypen surveyors dot com sold to a british enduser surveying company
Daycare hypen software dot com sold to an US company
I sell 2-5/month hyphen dot coms for BIG money.
Rick Schwartz said in one of his domainsherpa interviews that he would rather buy a hypen .com then a new gTLD, so I said I am in as I am firm believer in .com

Are any of these hyphen sales reported anywhere?

ok this gets interesting.
what about the domain name "london-childcare.com which is unregistered
would you contact an enduser or wait to be contacted or would you just not bother with this type of domain at all???

Most likely nobody will contact you on London-Childcare.com because it's not a category defining domain.
If you had like Private-Jet.com or Private-Jets.com or something category defining then I would just wait for inbound offers.
When I sold London-Surveyors.com I compiled a list of 200+ endusers that owned a surveying company servicing London area. After emailing my enduser list I had 3 offers!
Why don't you compile a list of ALL London based childcare facilities and email them??? Short and sweet email and I never list my price in my first email.
I also followup 3 times every 2 days or so after my initial email sent. I close deals everyday just by following up, and being persistent.

ckj11 London-childcare.com is a good one that I think you can flip somewhere in the $350-$800 range.
LondonChildcare.org is owned by Broadcasting.com a marketing agency in London and there are HUNDREDS of end-users for this one.....
If you don't pick it up I might.....

Maxtorz thank for your info
Im new to domaining so I wont be buying it but if you get it please let me know how you get on. I found quite a few like that that could earn a couple of hundred quid but Im not sure how to contact end users.

Americans don't like hyphens, but for example Germans and French like them a lot, so it all depends.
Purchased recently 1-11.cะพm and literally love it.

Web-Hosting.com is category defining hyphen name...worth a pretty penny.
Cheap-Autos.com is not a good hyphen domain sorry (just look up the search volume)
Cheap-Cars.com is the category defining domain name that you would want to own.
What I am saying is you would have to reach out to endusers and put some time and effort in flipping Cheap-Autos.com.
