I have found domain that consists of 2 saleable words but they are split with a hyphen.

Germans love their hyphens.

Hyphenated domains are kind of getting left behind in the age of smartphones and tablets. On iOS atleast you have to switch away from the abc input page just to type a hyphen.

The non-hyphenated version would have been worth 6-figures without question. :)
Was is shane-bellone.com?

The exception to the hyphen rule is; hyphens are good on .de domains. Germans like hyphens. Hyphens on .com domains are not very desirable in general.

Fair to say these go against the trend the L-L and N-N are rare and short I guess

True; the point was to demonstrate that the hyphen'd domain is valued 1/100 of the one Without ;)

358.com sold for $480,000
3-8.com is valued @ $4,750

Marsi, you have it wrong I'm afraid

This is not a true reflection on the pricing, one is N-N and they NNN

You should be comparing them like this, that proves what a hyphen does to a domain

N-N-N.com
NNN.com

Look at your cellphone (mobile becoming super popular) type in your "keyword" then add the hyphen (extra step) then (back to letters) and then your other "keyword"..
I been basing a lot of my domain buying based on how easy it is to type in on my cellphone.
Just my thoughts...

At the end of the game its all about pricing A company will pay what is in their budget.. I see many companies with hyphens displayed on trucks or whatever. Its all a cost factor.. If you have a good category hyphen domain most likely they will buy it from you before the shell out big dollars to the non hyphen

Right; you've a valid point! That actually will rendered the hyphen'd domain as worthless. Best regards,
