Does this exist? SaaS to reconcile domains across platforms?

Curious if there's a service/app to help reconcile my domains across platforms with minimal intervention.

I have seen some portfolio management tools that require a lot of manual intervention. They'll keep track of some of the stuff I'm about to mention, but it's very "one domain at a time" and everything done manually, essentially a spreadsheet with a user interface, where most things have to be entered by hand. The more info it can pull on it's own, from various registrars etc, the happier I'll be...

I'm going to toss out some ideas, curious if anything comes close to this/has these features...

    - Log-in with my registrar accounts and automatically add my domains to a master list, including nameserver info, expiration dates, age, renewals, etc.
    - Automatically check if my domains are listed in my preferred/specified marketplaces and alert me if they are not (Sedo, Dan, Afternic, etc.)
    - An interface to add domains to my preferred marketplaces would be next-level, including to update current listings across marketplaces with changes made in the app (Ex: Change price in the app, then price gets updated at afternic, sedo, and dan all at once.)
    - Automatically add newly registered domains to the master list in the app.
    - Easily mark when a domain is sold, and for what amount, to keep track of my overall profit/loss in domaining, while also automatically adding registration costs, sales data based on extension, calculate yearly turnover, which venues I get the most sales from, etc.
    - Reminder to remove from marketplaces when sold (Alert: x.com was marked as sold, but is still listed in your Sedo portfolio.)
    - Even just entering the url for my Sedo listings, my Afternic, and my Dan, and having it tell me if there are any discrepancies between them (price, domains missing from one of them, etc) would be a pretty useful little app.
    - What about something that tells me when similar domains to mine are up for auction, or dropping, etc? Or where I can enter keywords and it monitors various sales platforms, drop lists, and so on. If a domain with "Peak" is dropping, it would be cool to get a heads up. Maybe it even integrates with some drop catching services and earns a commission.

I imagine some of this could be accomplished with various APIs, and I recognize some of these features likely aren't possible and some already exist elsewhere, but something that could do *some* or *most* of this in a more hands-off way would be so useful as my portfolio grows.

I'm curious which current portfolio management platforms come closest to this - and if there isn't a more automated one - I'm curious why not? I imagine most of us would appreciate the features. I don't know anything about software development, but I hope there is room for innovation, at least for some of these features. Thanks for your time and your thoughts.

Some marketplaces like Adyernic or Dan don't have any API. You could confirm if its listed with a simple scraping of the website. The closest you can come there would be to automatically generate the csv files for the user to manually upload to the platform. Sedo has a basic API to manage listings. Many registrars do have APIs but not all.

For the places who do have APIs you also have to realize those API credentials would make a valuable target for hackers as the could in some cases use the API credentials to steal domains. Thats a risk I'm not sure who would want to take on.

When we started building Efty the goal was to be the ultimate portfolio management tool. We had the ambition to connect to every possible registrar and marketplace to accomplish many of the tasks you've described. We realized quite quickly however that it would be costly and tedious to tackle most of the things we put on our roadmap and most domain name investors weren't willing to pay much for just a portfolio management solution hence we shifted our focus and started to develop features that would help our users sell more domains such as for-sale landing pages and a marketplace.

Nonetheless, Efty still can help with a few things that you summed up, including:

You don't log in with your registrar account but when you add domains to your Efty portfolio, instead we use our Whois data provider to pull in all this information for each of your domains. This way Efty is very useful to keep a tab on expiring domains, see where they are registered, and so on.

Efty offers this feature and it works well as long as you manually input the data when you sell a domain.

Another domain name portfolio tool that has been around for many years and has some happy users is DomainPunch. I have never used it myself so I can't really give you a review but perhaps some other NP members can.

Very nice find. They don't say anything about it on their website. I emailed them and @LaszloSchenk said its intended for those with more than 10k domains. Though honestly I'm not sure why its not just open to anyone and documented one their site. I am awaiting further reply from him to clarify if it's possible to still get access or not (since I don't have anywhere near that many domains but greatly prefer to automate every thing)

If so that leaves just Afternic as requiring manual listings or at least manual CSV uploads, perhaps @Joe Styler could comment on the possibility of getting a listing management API for Afternic? That would be so nice to fully automate all my matketplace listings.

Eventually a registrar will develop this and they will absorb a huge share of the market.

However I've believed that for 15 years.

Seems mad to me why somebody hasn't made this platform:
    1. Registrant points domain to platform sales page, platform makes commission from inbound enquiries
    2. In exchange registrant can manage listing on Afternic, Sedo, Dan etc from one dashboard

A registrar makes the most sense as they have the security in place already. A startup im not sure I would trust with credentials to my accounts. @Rob Monster an idea for Epik?

Agreed here -- these are features not really great scope for a startup.

There are some good suggestions for "AI" helpers for getting more out of a domain portfolio. We'll review these ideas and see where they might fit in the roadmap either for Epik.com or NameInvestors.com.

As some folks here know, we do like working with folks that bring ideas and who think outside of the box about how software can find untapped value or improve personal productivity.

I don't see why they wouldn't give access. I've been using it for years though so they may have grandfathered access.

I'm not sure the git repository is up to date either. I had to tweak some stuff when they changed from undeveloped to Dan if I remember correctly but I'll have to look at my code to make sure. Apart from that all my Dan listings have been on autopilot for years :)

The API does let you do about every task you can think of so I'm sure it'll come in handy for you.

I don't know why its not openly offered either but he did go ahead and grant me access anyway. Looking forward to automating this as well.

IMHO, this type of app can't be SaaS because of potential high risk. It must be a standalone software and the user take the responsibility for security.

I have created many standalone app for self-use which including the functions you mention but they're more or less well separate.

I just release one of my self-use app 'DAN API Console' on DomainSoftwares.com to test the water. :xf.rolleyes:
If the demand is reasonable, I will add more API Console to support different marketplace / registry. The user will able to syncing between different API console under a local database. If everything on the right direction, it will end up cover all major provider. :xf.cool:

We do not have it in the immediate plans but we do have plans to redo the listing process and make it more bulk friendly. You can also access many APIs via developer.godaddy.com and that would allow you to manage your domains and say point them all to one listing service or rotate them, track renewals, etc.

If I may make a suggestion, all the other marketplaces I deal with have an API to allow me to manage my listings in real time (Epik, Dan, and Sedo) only Afternic does not.

My problem with the CSV upload isn't that is isn't friendly enough, generating a CSV from my internal database of names is quite simple. My problem is that the upload process is manual.

This causes some problems, for example there is currently no way to automate adding new domains I acquire from any source to Afternic. Or removing domains that sell though another marketplace.Perhaps in lieu of a full management API you could offer a simple API endpoint to upload the CSV automatically and select whether to add or reconcile. Or even an FTP (preferably Secure FTP) server to upload a CSV file automatically could be useful.

This could allow better utilization of multiple marketplaces where listings are kept up to date limiting problems with old listings the seller no longer owns which could benefit both buyers who today would get transactions cancelled because the seller cannot complete it. It would also benefit sellers who run into their names still being listed by older owners and having to deal with support to get them removed, and it would benefit Afternic support by not requiring them to deal with support requests from buyers and sellers generated by such stale inventory.
