Curious if there's a service/app to help reconcile my domains across platforms with minimal intervention.
I have seen some portfolio management tools that require a lot of manual intervention. They'll keep track of some of the stuff I'm about to mention, but it's very "one domain at a time" and everything done manually, essentially a spreadsheet with a user interface, where most things have to be entered by hand. The more info it can pull on it's own, from various registrars etc, the happier I'll be...
I'm going to toss out some ideas, curious if anything comes close to this/has these features...
- Log-in with my registrar accounts and automatically add my domains to a master list, including nameserver info, expiration dates, age, renewals, etc.
- Automatically check if my domains are listed in my preferred/specified marketplaces and alert me if they are not (Sedo, Dan, Afternic, etc.)
- An interface to add domains to my preferred marketplaces would be next-level, including to update current listings across marketplaces with changes made in the app (Ex: Change price in the app, then price gets updated at afternic, sedo, and dan all at once.)
- Automatically add newly registered domains to the master list in the app.
- Easily mark when a domain is sold, and for what amount, to keep track of my overall profit/loss in domaining, while also automatically adding registration costs, sales data based on extension, calculate yearly turnover, which venues I get the most sales from, etc.
- Reminder to remove from marketplaces when sold (Alert: x.com was marked as sold, but is still listed in your Sedo portfolio.)
- Even just entering the url for my Sedo listings, my Afternic, and my Dan, and having it tell me if there are any discrepancies between them (price, domains missing from one of them, etc) would be a pretty useful little app.
- What about something that tells me when similar domains to mine are up for auction, or dropping, etc? Or where I can enter keywords and it monitors various sales platforms, drop lists, and so on. If a domain with "Peak" is dropping, it would be cool to get a heads up. Maybe it even integrates with some drop catching services and earns a commission.
I imagine some of this could be accomplished with various APIs, and I recognize some of these features likely aren't possible and some already exist elsewhere, but something that could do *some* or *most* of this in a more hands-off way would be so useful as my portfolio grows.
I'm curious which current portfolio management platforms come closest to this - and if there isn't a more automated one - I'm curious why not? I imagine most of us would appreciate the features. I don't know anything about software development, but I hope there is room for innovation, at least for some of these features. Thanks for your time and your thoughts.
