Now that .APP is rolling out I thought I'd share a little of our position in .APP domains. I'd love to know what others are doing.

We budgeted just shy of $100k for .APP domain registrations. Several we've already acquired and several we've missed. I'll update our pickups as I can without giving away our position. So far I will share that we picked up:

• Wedding.app

Trademark Claim
I do have a domain that we registered that has to pass their trademark claim process... it is very generic, not sure who decided to try to call it a trademark, we shall see.

Our Why
To sum it up, Google is our why. I became a domainer back in 2000, when the domain really mattered in SEO. My hunch is that Google won't be able to resist giving some type of preference to quality .APP domain.

Even a small advantage in the SERs or even the Play App Search results, make generic .APP domains valuable.

Got it. But it surprises me that your names like LiFi and CryptoTrading was registered smoothly while, a hardly competetive name like clinical trials went into auction.

I payed 150€ for each one Standard renewal..

Gochina is Godaddy so if you pre regged you will at worst go to auction.

I had one pending update that came in as mine about an hour ago and one that came in as an auction

I stupidly registered a trademark. I wasn't thinking straight. I must have clicked "Add To Cart" as I was eating my delicious mayo & cheese sandwich. I was thinking numbers & volumes. I pre-reg... Getty.app. I thought I was in the clear and would receive a refund though it was 'pending.' Nope! Just 2 hrs. ago I got a Congratulations e-mail. Maybe the Getty family are nice people and will let me keep it unless someone offered me a special sum for it. $16 bucks is a lot of money bro!

I owned charity app in .com, and got a lot of offers after finally selling it for a nice amount.

Given EAP cost + $800 annual renewal, just didn't seem like it was worth the hold.
