Now that .APP is rolling out I thought I'd share a little of our position in .APP domains. I'd love to know what others are doing.

We budgeted just shy of $100k for .APP domain registrations. Several we've already acquired and several we've missed. I'll update our pickups as I can without giving away our position. So far I will share that we picked up:

• Wedding.app

Trademark Claim
I do have a domain that we registered that has to pass their trademark claim process... it is very generic, not sure who decided to try to call it a trademark, we shall see.

Our Why
To sum it up, Google is our why. I became a domainer back in 2000, when the domain really mattered in SEO. My hunch is that Google won't be able to resist giving some type of preference to quality .APP domain.

Even a small advantage in the SERs or even the Play App Search results, make generic .APP domains valuable.

It doesn't work for me.
+ it doesn't work when checking at https://httpstatus.io with httpS://
It redirects only in plain HTTP mode... that's why works in IE as fallback...
Recheck your SSL-certificate at GoDaddy... activate and configure it properly... also ask them if their forwarding can be combined with SSL...
And the best solution - use another registrars.

Informative is okay but not necessarily an easy sell.. I don’t see the others ever selling though, I would grace delete them if you got them at a registrar where you can get a refund.

terrific names, i think a positive spiral starts with app, a higher percentage get developed, leads to more visibility, rinse, repeat.

i might suggest we are all coming off keyword search mania from 2004-2010, then brandable mania from 2012-16 then short name mania.. no no surprise everything cvcv went fast, im adjustment my picks for more action words than keywords, maybe score.app over football .app

I think it is interesting to see how many have faith in this extension. Furthermore, how many of you have registered keywords where the matching .com is for sale. I would think any potential end user will always go for the .com first, and so I think many of the registrations I have seen here are risky and highly speculative.

I wish you all the best though and hope to see plenty of sales to prove me wrong.

I see that Page said, and I paraphrase. We should try to get one-word domains for .app, not two. Well, some tried and failed against the pros and their 4-5 figure bribery and the registries siphoning. Sure, $300 bucks could garner a great one-word name, but that's weekend money for me and the ball is still bouncing around on the very new roulette wheel. So... Here's what I picked up.

i think some like your two word keywords are pretty good.

i mean two word brandables might be a stretch.

your cloudnine is what i call a 1.5 word, nice pickup. as is freesamples welldone.

on your product, i struggled with the plurals - whether that man some type of
shopping app to buy a specific class of product - so i passed - but good luck
and i see your logic its in the vape/cannibus/mari market

You know how we all wish that we would have dropped the farm on Bitcoin at $15? I have a gut feeling that in about 7 to 10 years people will be thinking the same thing about good dictionary, brandable and sensible 4 letter and less .app domains. Just a theory..

Thanks Page. That means a lot. Yes, I think it would be interesting to let people reg a domain for peanuts like it was 1993 again or free like it was 1988. I'm not sure, I was eating chop-dogs & Spaghettios and thought cartoons was real back then.

1and1 provides SSL certificate for free.
And just few clicks to enable/activate it.
