.app .APP Registration

Now that .APP is rolling out I thought I'd share a little of our position in .APP domains. I'd love to know what others are doing.

We budgeted just shy of $100k for .APP domain registrations. Several we've already acquired and several we've missed. I'll update our pickups as I can without giving away our position. So far I will share that we picked up:

• Wedding.app

Trademark Claim
I do have a domain that we registered that has to pass their trademark claim process... it is very generic, not sure who decided to try to call it a trademark, we shall see.

Our Why
To sum it up, Google is our why. I became a domainer back in 2000, when the domain really mattered in SEO. My hunch is that Google won't be able to resist giving some type of preference to quality .APP domain.

Even a small advantage in the SERs or even the Play App Search results, make generic .APP domains valuable.

From everything I've seen, yes they were all priced at $1,000 renewal, unless there were a few that were priced at $2,000 -- like may be me.app or my.app? I don't know.

I checked about an hour ago and less than 10% of the 676 combos were left.

I think I saw one that was $499 but could be wrong. I looked up 4k & 3d I think those were $999 & $1999 respectively.

Didn't really want to bother with 2 letters for .app. Mostly took 3 letters+.

One we snagged was ad.app not sure the value tho

I think you probably mis-saw, because even the worst LL.app are priced at ~$1,000 renewal, such as YV.app, etc. (inb4 "YV is actually good...")

Appreciate that! Quite new to the field but have a great marketing background and heavy into the app game. Fell in love with the extension.

I thought it would make a fantastic app for take out menus/ordering etc.

Wanted TakeawayApp but its gone in Early Access to Takeaway dot com.

Yeah, I noticed that too in EAP too. I didn't want to pay a premium and then a premium renewal fee. They picked it up on 2nd May so they paid at least 1k for it and then a premium renewal fee of £83.45 (approx 113 US Dollar). I wasn't willing to pay any premium renewals just for a punt.

I thought of takeout.app and then realised that it a more popular term than takeaway, especially in the USA and Canada.

takeout.app was on my list. im in the US never heard the term "takeaway." after you registered that i went for drivethru.app. fastfood.app was also taken
