Lots of life in this gtld, yet there is no general .INFO thread. Therefore I am starting one as of now!

Looked at the sales over the last couple months: https://namebio.com/?s=gN2YzN4UzM

3L, 3N, 4N, random one word and large domains are selling across many different auction houses which is a good thing.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have a handful of basic one word .info, e.g.:

Lapse.info
Achieved.info
Debated.info

Probs develop them at some point.

And one which fits the TLD nicely:
Broader.info
Great for a guide or news site etc.

I also have "Joiners.info" which I love. Am thinking of developing it in some way. Ideal for a DIY/Joinery type website with guides and how to etc, and even potential for a commercial site given the single keyword strength. Or maybe a plain old directory (although those seem to be a dying art these days)

Although I've not sold an info yet, I think its time will come soon. Not like a huge value comeback, but with the vast amount of new TLDs I think people are warming to the ol' faithful ones a bit.

.info is just leaning against the wall, waiting, calmly and patiently glancing at it's fingernails, and humming a casual tune..

As a CHIP it depends on what they go to, if at all. A vowel is not great, triple letter is, so bit hard to say..
As Western, it seems meaningless unless you know something I don't.

The key question is, what do you think it's worth or useful as? ;)

Something similar here.

I have Tabaco.info (Spanish for tobacco) which I feel makes a great combination for a tobacco related diseases website, a quit smoking program or a government non-smoking site.

Also Balle.info (French for ball), which sounds ok for sport equipment or similar. And some first names and a couple of short words (eg, Supra.info).

Not many, but with .info it's just that some combinations sound that good and I just can't let them go.

And after that I find myself thinking "what exactly do I do with this now?"

Hi @bonin ,
maybe you could give us the name so we can evaluate it ?
Or you can look for the value of the .com and divide that by I'd say at least a factor 10, IMHO.
As the best place to sell .info domains actively, I can't help you with that. I've only had passive sales / offers.

Here is one of my non-chips ... slightly controversial name though :) 8-s are great and 3 of them are even better, but then comes 4 :) and ruins it all... or does it

Hello,
you are selling concern.info, it is a beautiful dictionnary word, but who does it appeal to ?
Especially which business ?

For example, you cite
printers.info 1,383 USD 2016-02-16 Flippa
mortgage.info 35,000 USD 2015-12-13 PlentyOfBrands

But those appeal to businesses or physical merchants.

The one resembling your name the most is maybe
everything.info 1,250 USD 2015-11-27 Private

But "everything" it is more appealing to, say a reference site than the word "concern" IMHO.

Yep and all this reflect on the starting bid - only $350 for dictionary word, someone can get this domain actually for just $351.

I think to stop the auction if there is no bids in the next 10 hours :(

There are many dictionary words.com on the market with no buyer, some sell for $350ish talk less of a .info. Bido could be another place to try. You may not get $350 though but you`d most likely get offers for it.

True. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are patient enough as you said you might be lucky someone likes it enough to pay your asking price. I have two that normally one would expect to go for mid xxx within a short time but so far I have only got a few ridiculous offers on them.

I still believe .info is a great gtld and given the 5.49 million registered, it has popularity and demand for sure. After .com, .net, .org, .info is the next main go to for hand reg. It's down from the 8 million registered in 2012, but I believe the trend has changed and we'll see it get back to that range in perhaps a year or two.
