This year there were massive fires in the Arctic regions, where six million acres of Siberian forest have burnt, an area roughly the size of the state of Vermont.
In Alaska, fires have consumed more than 2.5 million acres of tundra and snow forest.
Indonesia has this problem every year with their
intentionally set fires, to the point were flights to and from neighboring countries like Singapore and Malaysia are cancelled, because of so much smog and haze in the air.
The forests of Indonesia were replaced by farms that produce palm oil, which is used in everything from cookies to cologne and is one of the most important crops in the region.
In Africa vast stretches of savanna are going up in flame, in California, in Central America, Australia, South East Asia etc. etc.
The Brazilian fires have grown into a full-blown International crisis, thanks to the MSM, who suddenly ganged up to criticize Bolsonaro, because he's not kissing their asses, just like Trump.
These Amazon fires represent only one of many significant areas where wildfires are currently burning around the world.
It should be noted that Indigenous communities in the Amazon have used fire in the rain forests for generations, though they tend to cultivate much smaller areas.
So, trying to blame Bolsonaro in Brazil or Trump for the ills of the world, just because they are right wing is a
load of bull.
How can you hold Brazil to a different standard, when in fact the US and Europe destroyed, in the past, most of the forest areas they had in the name of our economy?
The problem is that too many humans demand wood, beef, soybeans and palm oil which is helping to kill off the forests.
But perhaps the number one cause for the Amazon fires is the growth of the Chinese Middle Class. Their meat consumption per capita doubled between 1993 and 2017, and keeps growing.
Brazil is the world's largest grower of soybean, 80% of which go to China as animal feed. And Brazilian farmers are responding to the increasing demand... which will keep increasing for a long time as the Chinese increase their meat consumption.
But it is not just China. France is the 5th largest importer. French milk cows thrive on Brazilian soybean. And just like France, there are many others.
So as you can see from this map, it's not just the Amazon...
