I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

unfortunately civilians appear to have become military targets , could this be due to Zelensky telling them stay and fight ?
In all fairness there is a difference between if he tells them to fight or if he forces them to fight.

If the civilians voluntarily choose to stay and fight then it's not anyone's fault if they get killed on the battlefield.

But I do agree with you that this kind of makes the line a little blurry between true civilians and the fighters when it comes to pursuing War Crimes against Russia.

putler will only stop when and where we stop him.

Why can’t we have a good old War like the way we used to,

Not trying to make fun of such a serious situation, but to make the point that things apparently have changed a lot with going to War compared to how it was just a decade ago.

Things have changed so much that it has even caught the military experts and tacticians off guard and perhaps that’s why that this War has turned into such a big mess on all sides.

Well we now have the Internet and social media which are being used as tools of War, there is not much that can happen that is not talked about in real time on Twitter and add to it that there is the real threat of Nuclear and Chemical weapons being used and that makes things a lot more complicated than the way Wars were being fought in the past.

In a way it’s like as if the whole World is involved in this fight as the ultimate reality show with everyone becoming an expert overnight.

But sooner or later the military experts and tacticians on all sides are going to adapt and adjust their strategies like the way that Russia has done now by attacking from a distance.

Perhaps it’s time that the West adjusted its strategies too in helping Ukraine before it’s completely destroyed.

Ukraine officially applies for EU membership.

Let's see if that is going to make a difference in the level of support that it receives from the West as the new Russians offensive on the Eastern Ukraine begins today.

Putin’s Pollock: US seafood imports fuel Russian war machine

A U.S. ban on seafood imports from Russia over its invasion of Ukraine was supposed to sap billions of dollars from Vladimir Putin’s war machine.

But shortcomings in import regulations mean that Russian-caught pollock, salmon and crab are likely to enter the U.S. anyway, by way of the country vital to seafood supply chains across the world: China.

Like the U.S. seafood industry, Russian companies rely heavily on China to process their catch. Once there, the seafood can be re-exported to the U.S. as a “product of China” because country of origin labeling isn’t required.

The result is that nearly a third of the wild-caught fish imported from China is estimated to have been caught in Russian waters, according to an International Trade Commission study of 2019 data. For pollock and sockeye salmon, the rate is even higher — 50% to 75%.

Mislabled Fish

“China doesn’t catch cod. They don’t catch pollock. But yet, they’re one of the largest exporters of these whitefish in the world,” said Sally Yozell, a former policy director at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who now is a senior fellow at the Stimson Center in Washington. “Having it labeled as a Chinese product is really not fair to the consumers and to restaurants.”

Russian forces have stormed the Donbas region while bombing the steel plant in Mariupol where the last of the Ukrainian forces and some civilians were holding out.

By the end of the week many people might perish in Ukraine because of this War. I know it's a hard decision to make, but maybe the Ukrainians should just forget about Donbas and focus their energy on protecting the rest of their Country.

If the Ukrainian forces get all worn out and use up all their weapons and ammunitions in the Donbas battles then the rest of the Country will become exposed to Russian advances later on.

Who Is Aleksandr Dugin?

The writings of a Neo-Nazi mystic nicknamed as "Putin's Rasputin" may have influenced Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Dugin, who has been called a philosopher, a mystic, a political analyst, and a fascist, is supposed to have had a significant influence on Putin's Russia, and his beliefs are thought to have influenced the invasion planning, at least in part.

So much so that, Dugin's ramblings have been "required reading" for Russian troops before invading Ukraine, as they proclaim a paranoid worldview that calls for Ukraine to be absorbed into Russia. And he believes that Moscow should control everything "from Vladivostok to Dublin."

New deadline for Mariupol resistance forces to surrender passes as the Russian forces plan to storm the steel plant after hitting it with bunker busting bombs.

Perhaps it's best for Russia to just let those people be where they are for now since they are not going anywhere and are not producing any danger to the Donbas operations.

The World is watching, best for Russia to show a little Humanity and let those people live (remember Logic and Compassion).

PS: I will use this incident as an example when I develop my domain LogicAndCompassion.com

Unfortunately, Germany is not the 'friend' the world might think it is. It's goal is to continue to tighten the reigns on the EU. One day, they might even be considered an enemy as well. But of course, I could be wrong.

ADD: There are a number of US and NATO aircraft in the air right now along the Ukraine border as well as the Black Sea...one with very specific offensive capabilities.

Some analysis and thoughts:

If Russia wins,

Russia might become content with taking over the Donbas region and end the War by presenting this victory as the final fulfilment of its goals in Ukraine.

On the other hand this victory for Russia could become the basis for the incremental advances into the rest of Ukraine and ultimately for expanding its presence into the Eastern European Countries that are not members of NATO.

If Ukraine wins:

If against all odds Ukraine is able to repel the Russian offensive into the Donbas region then this victory might result in Russia resorting to using certain unconventional means to achieve its goals.

I don’t think that Russia is going to give up on its goals of resurrecting its once superpower status. So I believe that one way or another the World is going to be involved in some kind of a conflict for the next couple of decades.

Also for Russia to become the superpower that it once was might not be the end of its ambitions as it could then set a new goal of dominating the whole World (or at least the whole European continent).

The only way to avoid the turbulent times that are ahead is for the human race as a whole to ascend to a higher level of existence and thinking that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that are derived through Logic and Compassion.

The sooner that the World understands and accepts this fact the sooner that we all can have true Peace and Security.

I am quite disappointed with Germany. I thought they would be way more concerned and involved about what's happening in Ukraine right now. But no, they prefer to keep funding Putin's war machine at the expense of thousands of innocent people's lives in Ukraine.

If they would stop buying russian gas and oil, it would be a very hard hit to Putin's war machine. Germany would lose 2-3% of its GDP, not more that what they lost during Covid-19 pandemic, but they would save thousands of lives in Ukraine and could stop Putin's aggression there.

At this time, it's when countries show their true colors, and Germany right now doesn't seem to have too much empathy for other countries, neighbours, suffering atrocities and genocide.
They even don't want to give part of their tanks to Ukraine. Even if being part of the NATO grants them that nobody is going to touch them, even Putler. Germany right now is putting its business first before its humanity.
