Welcome to the new NamePros in November!

Today marks the first step toward a lot of positive and exciting changes coming to NamePros. You'll notice that most of what you loved is still here, and we're working hard to bring back even more.

And that's only the beginning! We'll be bringing you regular updates, sometimes weekly, to add the features you've requested (please vote on features you want to see first!) and improve your experience.

Our mission is to build a thriving professional network around the best community – that's you! – where professionals can engage in civil discussions, ask questions, share advice, partner, transact, and succeed, all together.

We hope you'll have a look around, and let us know what you think!

All our best,

The NamePros Team

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
We don't send alerts for quick replies at the moment, though that may change in the future. The whole quick reply/vote system is designed to be easy to tweak, so we'll adjust it based on feedback.
It is definitely bad since yesterday...
I don't see: what happens with my posts, at all!
Also I don't understand: why 2 separate ways to vote, old good 1 way is not enough???

Paradise for archaeologists, in other words...
I'm not seeing any issue at that link.

Then don't use it. :) Personally, I plan to stick to quick replies for the time being; I doubt I'll use voting much. However, if you find a particular piece of content especially valuable, or if you'd like to respond with quick replies without affecting the score of a post, you now have the freedom to do so.

Really???
User quoted and replied to 2008 threadstarter there...
What does that have to do with the update? They could've done that just as easily before.

Because this update generates such posts, which ~never happened previously...
Users reply to what they see, nobody checks the date of the pinned post on top...

It doesn't allow you to vote as many times you want. The more established you are, the more you're able to vote.
@Jurgen Wolf, you have the maximum amount of influence for adding and removing points on posts because of your Impact. Please use it responsibly. :)

The maximum influence and the amount of Impact that grants it to you will likely be tweaked over time until a balance is found.

And before any further major updates - launch Beta phase firstly...

There are no rules against posting in old threads. In fact, it’s encouraged.

It is not about old threads with current discussion!
You disturb OPs and all other watchers/readers by forcing replies to NOT actual (outdated) posts!
Is it so hard to understand???

The new design is nice.
It will take some time to get used to it, but overall it is not bad at all.
Thanks for continuing to improve NamePros.

The "New threads" section combines results from all forums. I wish I could filter to only see domain discussions, or just sales, or just requests, or appraisals, etc.

So remove these misleading pins (like it was always) or collapse them (if it is mandatory to have them).

The current site Alert system is not as efficient as the old one. Looks like you switched to the default Xenfolo alert system. The former site alert is world class and we'd appreciate if it comes back.

It will take some time to familiarize with the new look and feel and after accustomed to it , the changes may impress all..

@Paul
And as I see, Open Sans font is forced...
Please set just sans-serif in your CSS.

I am beginning to get used to the new look for NamePros and I believe I like it better.

Being an oldtimer domainer I've already forgotten how the forum used to look like before. :)

So the Bcoming Soon and Naming Soon banners have nothing to do with this new NamePros website?

@Paul
And toolbar doesn't work, all buttons are hidden (see Chromium screenshot):

HotKeys like CTRL-B (to boldify the selected text) don't work as well...

I believe that we all should be a little bit more patient and give NampPros a little time to find the right balance between the looks, functionality, and security for the forum after this upgrade.

I see only downgrade in all aspects...
And without any Beta tests.

I believe having better Security has been the main driver behind this change,

Hopefully we'll be able to see a better Functionality and Looks too as all the bugs are worked out and more enhancements and updates are made as we go along.

IMO

If you're referring to the old alert system's tendency to update in the background, that was originally a bug in chat, believe it or not. Over time we refined it and turned it into a proper feature, but it wasn't ideal because it relied on a technique called "polling" that hurts performance and battery life. We'll likely reintroduce it in the future, albeit intentionally this time--and with a better design that doesn't rely so much on polling.

In the meantime, we now support proper push notifications. If you head to your alert preferences, there should be a button about halfway down the page to enable them.

And toolbar doesn't work, all buttons are hidden (see Chromium screenshot):
You're in raw BB code mode. If you enlarge your window a bit, there will be a button on the top right of the editor to switch back. You can also access that option by clicking the three dots in the top right of the editor.
