This is going to help me with my mortgage whilst I am out of work still -

Reached to an end-user and sold these 3 through sedo today

HoloWatch.com - $1,700
HoloCity.com - $700
HoloGolf.com - $650

Not ideal amounts but sold for $3,050 and I bought all 3 a week ago for $350.........all helps me to pay my mortgage... :)

Job interview this afternoon so fingers crossed.

Cheers

Stu

Congrats on your sale!!
Hope there are many more to come from this thread!

Even though its the right keywords, its very generic and basically refers to the whole industry and it will tough to sell to an end-user because of that reason

I think brandable and shorter names do better in these tech niches

Good luck though

I would refer to CloudComputing.com in this scenario, i.e., owned by Dell.
Generics have a great market, in my opinion. And i have already had offers on it, also in talks to get it brokered by 1 of the leading brokers in the industry.

Awesome, how did you get it?

Thanks. Got it from the Aftermarket.

Honestly speaking, Sedo's charges is just too much! Their commission is too high. I cancelled BIN transaction when I noticed that they would receive over $400 on my sale... enough money to get me good domains at aftermarket. But DN will collect $56 for same transaction.

We need to start talking more about DN.com to help them get their names out there. People do not know they exist yet. I know we have their Banner on here and thread dedicated for that purpose but that's not enough.

Someone should please get in touch with their PRO or marketing department and get them to work by spreading the words. I think domain bloggers could help here as well.

Once you list your domain on Sedo, they're going to charge you a full commission because the assumption is that they found the buyer for you. If you wanted to use Sedo just for escrow, what you should have done is used Sedo's "external escrow service" which costs 3%, instead of 12% or 15% or whatever their full fee is.

See here:

https://sedo-us1.custhelp.com/app/a...t-is-sedo’s-external-transfer/escrow-service?

Bear in mind that typically, when using DN, you'll also incur wiring fees both when sending and receiving money which basically erases any savings you get over competing escrow services.

Thanks. So,if I am using their external escrow service, do must it be parked on sedo? if no, how do I start it? THANKS once again.

Yeah but cloud has been around for years now, but holographic computing is just an "idea" to most people at the moment, we will see what happens in 5-10 years time, thats how long the cloud domain investors had to wait to see that develop into something mainstream

Dell owns the name but they are not really using if you check the page, it just redirects to their main site...HoloComputing wold be a better buy IMO,a lot more brandable

Good luck though Nitin, I hope I'm wrong and it pays off big time

i think part of the delay with cloud sticking around was that nobody understood the cloud - not sure people even get it today

i like the flexibility a lot
on Microsoft's page is states:

"The era of holographic computing is here"
i believe this will become very popular as many people - even late adopters - are now ready for the 'next era' of computing and this will become one of their...'hey, check me out, i'm cool for knowing this' lingo... and it just sounds like a phrase for tomorrow.

I agree :)

I disagreeeeeee :lookaround::lookaround::lookaround:

lets see what happens, you only have to see the cloud sales to see what types of names sell and most of the time its nice, short brandable names, names that a start-up company will want. I really cant see a start-up wanting this name. I also think if someone like Microsoft or one of the big companies wanted the name, they would have bought it by now

lets see what happens, it all just opinions & predictions at the moment, thats why I love this game :D

Good luck all

there's no harm in disagreeing... discussion is healthy
curious about your thoughts...

is it the word Holographic your not a fan of in this instance or because it's so broad?
i understand the points about the shorter brandable holo term, but are you of the opinion that anything with hologram or holographic in it will not do well?

I also agree on some points, however Microsoft only bought HoloLens.com a couple of days before announcing the product, I think once other computing giants get into this field then the sky is the limit on Nitindomains **Holographic **Computing** dot com

isn't this also being tabbed as 'Windows Holographic'?
i've seen this being referred to as Windows Holographic a lot

I would totally agree about brandables ruling the holo niche..but again this name is the category itself, i.e., the exact same technology being promoted by Microsoft.
I did read a lot of research articles while I acquired this one, with researchers using this term way before Microsoft did (with the launch of HoloLens).

There is a huge difference between a product/service based brandable & the exact category term. Just as Microsoft adopted HoloLens for its product, but **Holog*raphic**Computing** for the technology. This is how i get it.

I hope it does well for me, though I personally see it as another investment.
And I am more keen on developing it as an informative site, rather than selling it. Will soon go live with a website on it.

Thanks for the healthy discussion guys @gilescoley @FUTRS @mrcurly

Nice name!

Not so kean on the double c that connects holographic and computing. Also think it might be a bit long.

Having said that, it's still a nice name @Nitindomains

I never understood this thinking.. am i missing something on this?
typically i answer with, 'Would you have any problem with "DomainNames.com"?

MS have set the example by using hololens, not HolographicLens or HologramLens

@FUTRS....its because its a bit broad to be used as a startup and im also not a bog fan of the word holographic, .hologram is sightly better, but holo is best of the 3 IMO

Nitin, good idea, I think development is your best option with it...good luck, I look forward to seeing what you do with it
