Big data = Big bucks
The term big data is now here to stay as with the cloud, it seems repackaging can work wonders!
Unlike other buzzwords like “agile”and “SOA” in the software industry, Big data has already proven to be a keeper!
It is not going to go anytime soon it is a multi billion dollar industry, Big data is officialy the hottest thing since sliced bread.
What Big data Domain names do you own?

Was reading about they call the 3V's of Big Data. It seems 3V is a term that describes the characteristics of Big Data - Volume, Velocity and Variety. So I picked up -

3VAnalytics.com

Aftermarket Domains on Sale.
Search for "drop list" on google ,Check Godaddy closeouts Auction and Expiring soon, sedo ,snap names and see what you can find. There are plenty it will take some time to go through all but narrow your search when you arrive.

I hope this helps.

On DNJournal this week there were two Data related sales this week!
TalkTextData.com - $4,088 and GreenData.com - $5,000

You can find many "Data" sales report, but not "BigData".

So you're the one who was bidding against me on BigDataDirect.
...

So I assume that most of these "BigData" names are sold to Domainers, not to End-Users. :imho:

I wonder how many Cloud domains were sold to domainers before end-users?

Big Data is new on the scene with 60,500 exacts, move this on 1-2 years and your little table will look different, trust me!

That is exactly what many people dont know yet, some sit on the fence and watch others taking action... I would rather fail taking action.

I got in late during the cloud era, but not this one and thanks to the OP of this thread.

If you got into this during this thread I would argue that you got into it late.

Teradata registered BigDataAnalytics.com back in 2009 - I picked this name because it's already clear that this is a subject with meat on the bones over 3 years ago.

Now to put things into more context. They are selling a Big Analytics Appliance... they have not yet felt the need to buy the .com - that was registered in 2012 (so Teradata I'm sure thought about it).

I don't know why they haven't because a lot of what they do centers on the appliance concept. I've been to conferences back in 2006? where TeraData was selling a data appliance... so, it's not new science.

I just bought a 99c xxPROS.com site because I see it in mr coleys signature all the time... lol

---------- Post added at 05:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:52 PM ----------

I would rather fail taking action.

Big Data will/is be SOLD under the umbrella of existing service (predominantly cloud) - Amazon will sell under their elastic brand and others (as mentioned) as appliances etc.

Comparing the trends shows HOW different and broad CLOUD is to BIG DATA imho even factoring in Cloud Atlas and real Clouds and a couple of irrelevant contexts:

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=cloud, big data&cmpt=q

It's IMPACT will be felt on marketing.

The money will always be in selling where the IMPACT/ROI is. Data is LOW VALUE. Information is HIGH VALUE.

I suggest if you are going to take action you look at the RESULTS of big data hype not the term itself (marketing.analytics.metrics.optimization.trends.insight) etc. These are what CONSUMERS will be looking for in the long run... I'm sure there are other terms.

Should note that most of all the good terms are taken in that marketing space because they have been universally important since the internet began :) There are brandables but I've yet to figure out how one would sell brandables without being approached first so it's more luck based (my opinion)

We were all too late in this niche, most of the top keywords in Big data were taken end of 2010, beginning of 2011...some even earlier as defaultuser pointed out.

You cant be first in a particular niche by starting/joining a thread on a domain forum, you have to research future technologies and trends constantly and predict something will take off in years to come.

While cheap GD coupons are avail it's worth investing the price of a cup of coffee on a couple of domains. All coms.
