Am I the only one that feels the numbers and values are looking suspicious. Given xyz history with using smokes and mirrors to market the name space I am a bit sceptical but can be convinced otherwise.
What is your gut feel? Last 2 weeks sales from same person Swetha DNGear
beacon.xyz $24,888
Genisis.xyz $21,399
Patron.xyz $9,888
Protocol.xyz $8,000
Split.xyz $7,888

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddyGoDaddy
They are not new anymore, 7 years elapsed.
And many registrars have .xyz banner on their main page.

Open challenge. If you prove any sale which i have posted is fake, I will give all my 18K domains to you free of cost. If you can't prove, you should give all your domains to me.

My 18K domains cost me 6 years of my valuable time and more than half a million dollar investment.

Why do that, it’s just an opinion I am voicing. The question marks in the title and doubts I express shows I am not making a statement of fact an opinion. Free debate please

Opinion must be based on the own experience/practice.
If no experience with significant investments in certain TLD - then keep your opinion private.

Title would be been fine as "xyz sales???". Without her name and handle.

Experience in the domain world is suffice to have an opinion

I believe the sales are real.

One thing I'm surprised by is that the buyers aren't securing the .com. For example beaco*xyz.com. They are available for handreg.

Also it is her business name on DAN - it needs removing from the title of the thread as it will be indexed and could have a negative impact on her sales......not cool

If you can't see what you have done is wrong then that's on you, there are ways to mask a post, thread etc to discuss issues without it being picked by the search engines........just means you have to think a little beforehand, something you failed to do in this case......

As far as I'm concerned the sales are legit and I'm grateful she takes the time to share them......

For the others on here discussing her ROI etc - that's her business, she does not have to share anything she doesn't want to.........

You obviously havent sent a name to DNJ to get the sale listed on their sales report. Its really not worth the hassle of forging the document, it doesnt earn you anything.
I didn't mention DNJ, I didn't point anyone.
I just wanted to proof that screenshots are not reliable at all.

It’s a forum, a space to discuss notions, opinions and open debate with like minded people. I put the motion β€˜the sales are legit’ from that we discuss and vote. It’s been the platform for centuries to debate and to persuade people. Free speech in a democratic society.

No one is suggesting the documents are not valid.

Hi @gilescoley , the premise of my thinking was if only one person is achieving these sales, it’s very easy to create sales between xyz register and a friendly domainer, in that xyz funds the sale but the domainer gives the money back minus commissions for both the selling platform and domainer. Therefore show screen shots β€˜legitimacy’. Don’t cost a lot but creates a lot of hype. Importantly no end user sale no actual use of the domain.
I am a sceptic in this industry given being burnt by Adam Dicker and front running, dead beats, farce at snap names, dicker bidding on goddady auctions whilst an employee, the stuffing of newGTLDs, MMX booking income on Chinese domains that never materialised. It’s a minefield out there. 😁😁

Its not hard to do a bit of research using the WHOIS and see who owns the names now. Compare the WHOIS modified dates to to when the sale happened and you will see the sales are legit. This is not the only person maing xyz sales, I have seen sales on linkedIn, Reddit, Twitter and other domain platforms too, you will see more sales from this domainer as you are on Namepros where here/his sales are posted. The Adam Dicker saga is a little different to this though, there is loads of evidence of these sales.

Just a few sales from the first page of Namebio that are developed sites.

This is sad and why so many people have left namepros.Welcome back after 2 years @betthelot
Your on prime time Swetha, right up there with Brett and the big boys. Keep kicking butt, I doubt most everything but I have no doubt your legit.

@DomainNameWire someone was looking for you and couldnt find your username other day, anyways, I see all the comments in your post are kind and positive. Did you delete any negative ones?

I did not vote in the poll because I think the initial post should be deleted. It is not only unfair to a NamePros member, but it is harmful to our community and domain investors in general.

By saying "it looks suspicious" the original post went well beyond reasonable informed comment. By including her username and name in thread title makes it even worse. These sales are well authenticated - took place at major marketplaces (Afternic, DAN, SquadHelp, perhaps Sedo too). They were authenticated by NameBio. She even shared screenshots on social media.

We should be celebrating @DNGear for having a long term plan, daring to be innovative and define her own path, sticking with the plan when many would have given up, having the insight to see what sort of names have value, and the confidence to ask, and get, good prices. She is the sort of person who is propelling domain investing forward. That she also interacts with NamePros is to the benefit of us all.

Congratulations on your sales @DNGear and best wishes for many more

Bob

cant u read? nobody ever asked her to share her roi... I just said without knowing it it is insane and irrelevant to conclude a given strategy is working or not..or..how well it's working.

this goes for all domainers

our individual sales only matter if roi after renewals etc is good.

this goes for u..me..Rick s... and everyone. I wonder why people dont get this.. sometimes on sale thread a guy posts sale ..without saying what it cost him..so no idea about roi...and he goes 50k..and everyone is like wow...super amazing ...yet the best seller..

but what what if he paid it 45k... do u have any idea.how much easier it's to sell a name paid 45k for 50k than to sell name paid 1k for 50k..

this is why roi is crucial..for individual sales... and for overall strategy ..come end of year..

anyway.. hope people see the importance.

There is no value to be gained from it, imo. Their brand is Beaco*, and based on the .xyz extension. Their brand is not Beaco*XYZ.
