I have been selling my decent names almost exclusivity using outbound for a couple of years. maybe I am doing it wrong but sometimes it takes forever to get to the decision maker. I usually target the Marketing Directors and Managers. I am dealing with a HUGE medical device manufacturer now and after 2 months I am still not getting to the right person.

Who do you target and why?

This as been helpful. Can I PM you for the said info on lead generation ?

In the normal post you never know who saw ur post most prolly the one who saw they have not any connection with ur domain but in marketing you can target audience which are very close to your domain...
By the way if u have 9600 connections then better extract emails of them and create audience in fb then do target them from this method whenever they will go to fb they will see ur domains at newsfeed and that would be super cheaper either more cheaper then linkedin

Just an update - I did reach the decision maker of a 5 Billion dollar company and received this:

Hi Richard,

Thank you for contacting us about the sale of pacemakers.com. We have considered the domain name and have concluded that is not of strategic interest at this time.

Thank you,

Ken

I am not sure why the largest manufacturer of pacemakers wouldn't want to own their product name but to each their own. I have written again trying to save the sale.

Hi.
well this method is risky in linkedin as if you have done wrong targetting you can lose money alot.
i will pm you how to do it safe and sound.
my two sales total amount was 4750 USD
Acquisition cost was 79 USD total
Holding for both approx 2-3 months
@Riz M. I am very much interested on how you use target paid adds on linkedin and twitter as well can you pm me too please id like to learn more about this and experiment with it.
Thanks in advance.

So when you enter a website and click on ''contact us'' and you find the form...do you send your message via that or do you scrape the owner's email via something like hunter.io?

What do you do in that scenario? Do you always try to find the owner? do you just google the domain name and owner?

Very useful thread - I have just today started my first paid campaign at LinkedIn ... it took me around 1 hour to learn how to setup everything, so it is not that difficult it seems.

Very curious what results it will bring to me, I am ready to test it for a week or two.

Thanks @Riz M. :)

if you are using cpc please set 2 usd per click and target specific industry with only ceo and founders with 500+ employees in this way you will not hve junk clicks...
still if you are getting useless clicks dont hesitate to pm me :)

Do we need to have a premium linked in account to do this? Sorry if that has been mentioned earlier - I may have missed it. I just have a standard (free) account with 381 followers. Definitely need to increase that obviously but going slowwwwwww like you suggested - dont want to get restricted.

Ok, so I have done a bit of LinkedIn marketing and if you send out 30 or less connections a day with a note saying what you offer them, I never had any problems getting restricted. I am a little unclear on how you end up with the email addresses? Can you clarify that @Riz M.

30 emails i m not sure enough for marketing and in 30 you will have no issues i was telling about 500 or 700 messages or add contact

now that we see offer details from our marketplace across tens of thousands of names we noticed that for smaller companies its the CEO /owner contacting us for the sale...larger companies could be marketing or IT dept...I guess the idea may originate in marketing but they still go to the IT guy to try and buy the name.

one thing you cant predict is we see future biz ideas names making offers. so unless you work at the company you could never know what direction they are moving in. example the marketing dept just named their app x so they want x app. com

but whats even better is if the domain they want has a crazy high offer price, that is way out of their budget and you have thousands or tens of thousands of names to offer them, you can also suggest a ton of other options once they reject the counter....nothing better than the warm glen gary leads...
