We all know about the cheap, the average, the popular but what about bullet proof security of various problems that may happen to your domain

When you have an expensive domain you are a target for many people that dreaming of the domain

Which registrar would you trust your expensive domain(s) and why ?
What is different with this registrar compared with the others ?
What's your definition of total security to help you create a peace of mind state for your domain ?

Apart from high jacking, if you get a false spam accusation or any other legal issue, will this registrar hold your domain active until he gets a legal order ?

could we pay a transfer with paypal?
Yes, you can fund your account with either PayPal, Credit Card (Mastercard and Visa) or Wire. Also, if you monetize your domains on our parking program, any revenue generated can also be used for registrations/renewals/transfers.

Cheers,

If we receive a UDRP notification regarding a domain that is in our registrar, we will place an E-lock on the domain, which means you are unable to make any changes to the domain, unless you contact a Fabulous Representative, who can review your request and action accordingly.

Thanks for the info Mike,

It seems that across the board Fabulous is earning the reputation that GoDaddy and Moniker just don't quite have.

I feel safe having some of my better domains (and likely more to be transfered) sitting in Fabulous.

I agree, they still keep sending the reminder of renewal even long after you transfered the domain out. They are really serious and take care of your domain
as very precious thing. +:)

As reverse hijacking (often by large corporates) seems to be on the rise, how your registrar acts is becoming increasingly important.
Generally, registrars will lock the domain name to prevent changing ownership
and/or its nameservers. Anything else is up to the registrar.

Last I checked, Go Daddy will charge a $29 fee (I think) upon receipt of UDRP
or court order to lock it. They'll supposedly refund it if they receive another
notice that you won, and they're the only ones I so far know who impose it.

They're not supposed to deactivate any web site or email attached to it.

I have several high value names at Moniker, but feel more secure with Fabulous and their security features. That's where I would trust the most.

And I trust you. I have domains here on Namepros itself. So that I can be just a click away and see if they are there or gone.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. NamePros is a good place to register your names and have easy access to them. But keep in mind your names here are only as protected as well as you're able to protect your NamePros username and password. At Fab I'm required to login and know answers to five security questions to even be able to change nameservers on a domain. It's just a little extra security level for peace of mind on those ultra-valuable domains.

I would trust Opensrs more, been dealing with them for a long time. They are not those registrars that compete on price alone and had been extremely stable all along.

1) Moniker
2) Fabulous
3) For quick flipping names, Godaddy will be the most convenient

Fabulous sounds..... well..... fabulous

I am not familiar with them, so a couple of questions:
1) Some registrars seem like a 1-man-show (same guy answers support calls, same guy answers forum questions, same signature name on all emails, etc). What happens if the 1 guy has to stay in the hospital? How many employees does fabulous have? (Not implying that Fabulous is a 1 man show, I know nothing about them).
2) They are overseas. If for some reason you had to take an overseas registrar to court, that could get complicated?

We have over 50 staff members here, spread across Design and Development, Programming, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Legal, Executives and Customer Support.

Most people will know Dan Warner (CSO), Richard Moore (CEO), Jackson Hopkins (CTO), Peter Stevenson (Operations Manager), Andrew Wright (Sales and Marketing Manager), Jen Sale (DDN Partner Manager) and myself, Mike Robertson (Business Development Manager) from the various domain conferences.

We are also a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange, see www.ASX.com.au, code = DBS.

Cheers,

Mike
