We all know about the cheap, the average, the popular but what about bullet proof security of various problems that may happen to your domain

When you have an expensive domain you are a target for many people that dreaming of the domain

Which registrar would you trust your expensive domain(s) and why ?
What is different with this registrar compared with the others ?
What's your definition of total security to help you create a peace of mind state for your domain ?

Apart from high jacking, if you get a false spam accusation or any other legal issue, will this registrar hold your domain active until he gets a legal order ?

Remember this is about who to trust your "very valuable domain."

I heard that Moniker is secured, and never heard of any complaint about being grabbed by the registrar unlike what is happening in Godaddy.

This is the reason why i am now choosing Moniker as my main registrar.

Have read some similar posts/polls here and there about the similar topics, but still have a question:

Anyone can accurately explain why so many Big-Name companies are registering their business domains at Network solutions:?

GoDaddy helped a lot the other registrars
The insecure way they run their business and the uncertainty he spread with some cases (one of them that lead to www.nodaddy.com) is one of the reasons that many people search for something stable and professional

Big companies have their names registered from 199X and that time NetSol was the biggest registrar

it is pretty hard to unlock a domain at register.com, you need to speak to a live person there first.

This is not even a question for me any more. It's second nature that any of my valuable names are with Fabulous. I recently tranferred another 50 or so across and continue to do so.

Not only do they have the highest security levels in the business but their back end management system is second to none. They provide loads of valuable reports and data and you can even enter in all your non Fabulous domains to their database and they will keep you updated on renewal reminders etc.

Not only this but they are the cheapest in the business for .com and .net's. Their customer support is bounds & leaps ahead of Moniker and they are a leader and big player in the domain industry constantly developing and improving upon the industry.

If I register a cheap name for a quick flip I'll go with GoDaddy as that is simply where most people have an account and makes it easier for pushes and increases the market. However any half good domain I have firm in my Fabulous account.

LOL... but I will add a few serious comments. Most large companies have one and only one domain to worry about... maybe two or three at most for subsidiaries. I think the thread was implicitly addressing concerns for domainers, since this is a domainer forum. We have different needs, like tracking thousands of domains etc. Most of us probably don't even visit our own domains on a regular basis (visiting thousands of domains daily could be a bit tough, and boring). Even some of my valuable domains are on autopilot, so I want an extra level of security that might be a bit different than a company that is only watching one domain.

Also, $35/year (or whatever netsol charges) is no big deal to a large company, so the higher cost does not matter, and netsol security is good enough for their needs. Another thought is that if "IBM.com" is hijacked, you can bet it would be back online in hours with the original owner. If a domainer's high value parked domain is stolen, it might take quite some time since we do not have that kind of weight with legal authorities and registrars to get things fixed in hours.

Why you say that? :)

Because they are so difficult to use. The control panel takes ages to open up.

I haven't had any problem with Godaddy and I saw lots of premium domains are registered there.

But their transfer process is a bit confused.

Good for you then. But I am not happy with them.

Another question:

I've heard that if your name is subject to a UDRP or WIPO claim - and its registered at GoDaddy - then, GoDaddy will freeze your name immediately, pending the outcome of the case....You lose control of it right away.

I've heard that Moniker, on the other hand, don't do that.....ie nothing happens to your control over the name until the case is decided.

Is this true?

Also, what is Fabulous' attitude if you have a name with them, that is subject to a claim?

As reverse hijacking (often by large corporates) seems to be on the rise, how your registrar acts is becoming increasingly important.

Appreciate thoughts.

If we receive a UDRP notification regarding a domain that is in our registrar, we will place an E-lock on the domain, which means you are unable to make any changes to the domain, unless you contact a Fabulous Representative, who can review your request and action accordingly.

Cheers,
