Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

VRREPAIR.COM last sold for $355 on 2017-05-27 at GoDaddy

Somebody will have to repair headsets when they break down
I don't think this is a thread jack . . .

So VrRepair went for 355. Think VrReform has any shot of anything? Im not asking for an appraisal, just chatting!

VR Repair is a great name. Easily used for repairing headsets and other devices used in conjunction with vr. Perfect for development, and has clear usage and a defined area, IMO.

Unclear how VR Reform would be used or who the target audience or end-users would be for such a name.

@Want2learn, IMHO, what you really want to "ponder" is the potential resale value of the names you are registering... For example, "ponder" + kw shows a sales history of two sales on namebio, both in the lowest $$$ range. I urge you to "ponder" if this hand-reg is the best use of your reg money, vs. shopping the aftermarket or sifting thru drop lists... (I've recently dropped MUCH better names... ) Remember, you always want to think about the "business case" for the domains you reg. and the rationale for why someone would actually want to purchase the domain. (Unless, of course, you're purchasing for your own development purposes...) At any rate, I think this is the real "VR reform" you should be looking into...;) (Above said, here's wishing you best of luck in your future domaining endeavors...)

Thank you. I really do appreciate the feedback. I enjoyed your play on words when giving me feedback. I am sure you mean it, but the play on words is a very nice touch!

I will take your comments as an invitation to dialogue! I do agree with the business case approach. Sometimes what I am thinking might be way different than a "normal" domainer might think:) So I looked at ponder.com, ponderit.com, and ponder.co! I must say I was surprised at what I saw. As I was thinking, I saw ponder more as an educational word, a word of inquiry, a word that fits in with story telling. At any rate those were some of my thoughts on ponder. I do appreciate your feedback!

As to ReformVr and VrReform, Ill take those on the chin. I would ponder whether or not I should reg pondervr after reading your review:) I absolutely would buy/reg reformvr and vrreform again. These two domains will go up via my @toughdomains account! I will ask for offers and gladly renew them in 12 months with no offers now.

Repairvr just sold according to a post a few spots up. I have pondered;) and have deduced I will not be getting my XXX or XXXX from you with regards to these domains;)

In short, very little chance of $$$ sale...

So, this is a perfect example of what I was previously talking about... the business use case for the "repair" kw in relationship to VR is obvious. Ask yourself what is the business case for the word "reform?" (And keep in mind it would have to be extra strong to overcome the "double-R" configuration in the domain.) In domaining, it is good to keep the Mark Twain quote in mind... paraphrasing here, but "The difference between the 'right' word and the almost 'right' word, is the difference between 'lightning' and the 'lightning bug!'" ;)

BTW, I just happen to own RepairVR for the very reasons mentioned above...

I am thinking more from a legal sense or a redevelopment sense.

This makes sense. I can see how repair fits a whole lot better than reform. It is interesting to me though, because when I saw repair I was thinking more broadly about VR, as opposed to specific uses of repair, namely hardware such as headsets!

So are virtualrealityattire.com and virtualrealitygearup.com then limited in value because of length of domain? Clearly vrattire and vrgear or vrgearup are better than the two I mentioned! Right?

@Want2learn, time is limited, but I'll try to hit on a few of your issues. First off, between VR/gear/gearup/attire... clearly, VRgear has clear $$$$ value, attire much less value, and gearup virtually none... (simply run the kw through google and namebio, etc., and look at past sales history of kws... Also, just think about common terms and how they are used in media...) For example, I own FashionVR/StyleVR etc., because of common usage... When's the last time you referred to your "attire" with friends? As to the viability of longtails, you can look at my sig and see I own quite a few, but only top quality kw, because as you mentioned length significantly decreases potential sales. As to mixing letters/numbers like vrg0, in my experience, this is a low probability strategy, unless you are talking very short combos (3L), but others would know more about this... (check out the various "numbers" threads...) Good luck! ;)

VRJazzband(.)com - keep or drop ?

If it were mine I'd either drop, or manually delete, especially since the reverse version JazzBandVR, is still available for handreg right now. No sense in throwing good money after bad, IMO.

VR Jazz, VR Band, and the reverse versions, all great. VRJazzBand, one too many words, and too limited. Additionally, someone could just as easily handreg VRJazzGroup.com, or VRJazzMusic.com, both of which are available to reg at the time of this post. Not to mention, brandable names, which are a dime a dozen. Far too many options out there for prospective buyers, IMO.

Do you think VRPizza.com would be a good dn to hold?
Personally my gut tells me no but I'm not sure I have this whole VR thing completely figured out. ;)

Some of the names I've seen that people are excited about or that have been developed etc. are sometimes names that I would've never expected to be sold or developed.... and some of the names that I would consider to be super sexy awesome, are seen as worthless by others.....

So I guess if it was mine I would drop it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it should be dropped. LOL

@Levi_charlz, JMHO, but I would hold onto the name as Pizza is such a strong kw... (BTW, I was able to move 3D pizza for some decent $ so that's the basis for my opinion... ;))

ROAM THE WORLD IN VR WITH GOOGLE’S NEW HEADSET TECHNOLOGY

Recently, Google rolled out it’s newest gadget: WorldSense, a new VR headset technology that understands your movement without the need to set up any external sensors. Unlike past VR headsets, such as the Samsung Gear VR or Daydream View, WorldSense lets you be active and move naturally while wearing it.

Other devices like the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift have gone after the same 6DoF goal but have produced something short of perfect. The HTC and Oculus models are both wired to computers and don’t allow for complete roaming capability...Read More

And that is exactly what I'm talking about!!!
I realize pizza is a strong keyword but for what purpose? For selling pizza? What does VR plus pizza have to do with anything?

How can this be monetized? I am asking these questions in all honesty. And I am in no way meaning to come across as rude or sharp, but I really don't understand why VR pizza would be a good name. Could you please enlighten me? I'm starting to worry that I'm leaving a bunch of money on the table by not registering random keywords that (to me) have seemingly no value within or for the virtual reality name world.

Hi,

It's not my dn, I was asking the same question :)

I just think visiting a VRPizzeria could be a novel and visually enticing way to order home delivery pizza.

Imagine you've been wandering round a VR Theme park / Retail Park engaging in games, rides and a little home shopping , then maybe pop into the VR Pizzeria to order some food.

I think we'll see huge VR experience districts in time that house all sorts of outlets like you would a mall or high street.

I would definitely renew VRpizza... in same I will renew VRsushi... and many others keep renewing similar domains... but pizza kyword is way more popular product and better than sushi imo :)

like its' been said many times before.. when people are in doubt or lacking ideas, google is your best friend.

here is one example for vr+pizza...

http://thespoon.tech/virtual-eating...-you-think-youre-eating-pizza-when-youre-not/

you can easily find others... try it when you have some free time.. just google "virtual reality [keyword]"... the full version.. not just VR.. for more hits......

in the end, virtual reality can pretty much apply to any sort of product/service.. in one way or another.. its fairly easy to connect the dots between how we use or do something today in our "reality" versus how we may one day do it in VR. and those dots are essentially infinite.. making therefore just about every keyword and viable possibility and potentiality one day in VR. which in turns makes VR keyword domains also a possibility. some more than others.. of course.. hence premium versus non premium keyword.. and some less valuable than others.. but the possiibilties remain.. for many keywords. bottom line to me has laways been.. if you can do it today withour VR, there is a good chance you wil do it one day in VR... and then some.. cause VR will also let us do things which simply aren't doable without it :)

that about sums it up to me. and I try to go from there when picking some VR names.

hope this helps.
good luck.

Yesterday I've parked 80% of my domains at parkingcrew, are you getting revenue with them? also, what do you think about them in general?

its a bit early for getting top dollar for our VR domains now.. for obvious reaosns, so for similar reasons, imo its also bit early to be getting good solid traffic and or clicks for VR domains.. so I do not expect much either from parking or sales or offer values from VR at this point. so the answer is no.. my VR domains get some stable traffic, depending on name, but very few clicks. I hope this changes in future so a few bucks we can make from park clicks toward renewals etc too.

as for various parking companies, having tried a good few.. I think PC is best. in terms revenue... solid interface.. plus nice ability to see who clicked sale banner.. and not just visited your domain. who click sale banner is one step before they make offer.. so its always nice stat to have.

i attach foto reference with today sale banner clciks for me. often these result in offers for me in some futrue days to come. so to me this is a very interesting statistic to have.
you can find it going here in your pc (after login).. cause its not easy to find (under bannerclicks):
