Hi everyone! The 3D market appears to be exploding! Record takes at the box office by movies such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and the announcement this week of the new 3D TV which is set to hit markets shortly have helped buoy interest in 3D multimedia platforms. Even the major American television network NBC has jumped in and will be broadcasting the NCAA Final Four basketball games in 3D!

A direct beneficiary from this renewed interest and greatly improved 3D technology is the domain business. Some of you had foresight many years ago and reg'd great names early on. Others (myself included) have only become aquainted with 3D domaining more recently, but see the huge potential this market has opened up for domainers.

Let this be the place for you to show off your 3D domain names. Ask for opinions, marketing strategies or even an appraisal or guesstimation of value. Also, feel free to post any relevant news releases/articles related to the 3D industry.

I would stay away from names like this, they just dont work IMO, can anyone think of one website they go to regularly that uses a number instead of a letter...mmmm, thought not

I just picked up 3dheadtracking.com

I'm sure that just about everyone has seen Johnny Chung Lee's headtracking video on Youtube, but now it looks as though Apple and Microsoft may be jumping in this area with products that will be easier to use than Lee's homemade device (which is awesome, btw).

Only 210 exact search for adsense as of now, but over 500,000 on the search engine (in quotes) with about 6 or 7 ads.

It's a gamble, and it's quite likely that the "3d" term will eventually disappear. But I thought it was worth the shot.

Definately worth a gamble, thats what people should be doing, finding out about whats in the pipeline and get in there first...nice grab

I find it funny (and somewhat offensive) that you would actually consider me the same as Froy

.. i NEVER said anything about money or millions, or retiring.. i was actually the complete the opposite, so if you ARE gonna talk your smack - get your smack straight!

I would suggest you take another look at my site and names and tell me WHERE i went wrong... or how i am crazy for regging the names that i did.. PLEASE .. make your case... and don't blow it over like the last board once you have NOTHING to say.. at least lick your wounds and take it like a man, and say - hey ya know what - you really do have some pretty decent names there GUY!

MOST OF all those names where researched and thought out .. my names ARE NOT 3D BRAS - understood? ... out of almost 300 names, there may be a few questionable ones, but i don't care your experience, your knowledge or what you THINK you know... you can't tell me i won't actually profit from the names i have... enough to retire?.. NEVER - SAID -THAT !!
I am MUCH more realistic about this 3d thing then you may ever know - look me over and tell me how i'm not.. please do so.

Thanks for the Welcome Back all... sorry to rag like that... i hope some of you know what i mean, and something tells me most of you do... so..

here is my question, really... would love to discuss some of this for a bit and hear a few different opinions.
.. someone a little ways back had mentioned regging international domain names...
.. i have been able to build a rather impressive .US collection along the way with a purchase here and a purchase there.. for the most part, i tried to make sure the .US was relevant to the name, in some cases, i just grabbed it because of the string, but they mostly all do apply to the .US extension

.. now .. i KNOW they're not .com's, and there not .net's, i understand that.. but how do i view these as far as a realistic asking price for each... and/or.. in about a two years from now, do you think they would be more popular or less?

I did the same thing back early in the first thread, and came up with some great ones.
My thinking is this...
If they are relevant to 3D in some way, and they will be cuz when I stopped at like 11, or 13, there were still a bunch of incredible 3D domains left out there.
I think I even got 3DPorn.us...or backwards...whatever.

Because "3D Games" is a great keyword and "3DGames.com" is a great domain doesn't mean any domain that arbitrarily features "3D" is automatically worth hand-regging

Do you own 3DGames.com? If not, it will be extremely difficult to index in the first page of Google for that term, to say the least

Thanks dbtbandit67. Actually, I'm very familiar with SEO and how to get a website ranked simultaneously on Google, Yahoo , Bing, Aol & Alta Vista.

And actually, I haven't done any of the on-page optimization for this website yet. Of course though, there's more involved than just doing on-page optimization to get your site highly ranked on the major search engines.....
