Some advice?

I while ago i sold a collection of domains along with a website. The domains included the .com, .net and .org versions.

I sold the site on some forums. After someone posted sold i sent them a PM asking them to send me the money via paypal and to PM me with there namecheap ID so i could push the domain to them.

I didn't hear anything back from him for about 2 days. Then i got a PM from him asking what was up. Instead of PMing me and telling me his namecheap ID he put it in the *notes* section when he sent the money over with paypal. I was not aware of this as i do not use my paypal email address for emails.

While all this was going on the .com version of the domain expired.

What do you suggest that i do? Should i give him a refund or is it his fult that he didn't check when the domain was going to expire when he bought it and PMed me in time?

Is the .com version of the domain still available? I suppose not or else youy wouldn't be posting this. Either that or you do not want to spend yr money to purchase the domain again.

However since you were expecting the money via paypal you should have used a current email adress for it.

Posting sold I would expect the potential buyer to contact me and make transaction arrangements within a timely manner. 2 days to me would not be a timely matter if the buyer was aware of the expiration dates. Even if the potential was not aware of the expiration date, I would either refund the money or have the potential pay all fees to recover the domain. If the purchase amount was more then what it cost to recover the domain, I MIGHT do it out of generosity but that would depend on the circumstances. There is no point for you to take a loss if the buyer was aware of the conditions and did not contact you in a timely manner. Good Luck
