I want to sell several Domain Names to company(ies) that produce a liquor and/or sells said liquor.
I've read the great threads elsewhere that discuss how to sell to an end user etc.
However, I am wondering if this is a good time to contact them.
December is a busy time for everyone and corporations may not want to or have the time to make substantive decisions at this time, particularly a liquor company at this time of year.
Should I contact my End Users now or should I wait until after the Holidays?
Thank you for your advice in advance.

Don't procrastinate, if they want the domain it won't matter if you do it now or 3 weeks from now. The result will be the same ;)

Capital gains tax is expected to go up in '09 so you may want to contact them now to save some $

I would contact them just now but state that a sale wouldnt need to take place till next year - giving them time to think about it over the holidays and also shows you arent desperate for a fast cash.

Make sure you pitch it right - If you need a hand let me know.

Regards,

Robbie

It's now or never, I don't think there really is a perfect time to make a pitch.

Yes just give them more time to make decision with the domain.

Season doesn't matter, quality matters.

Agreed. My end-user sales have been down lately but that's due more to the economy than the time of year. This past week I made two sweet end-user flips -- $500 and $1000, respectively -- for a pair of domains that cost me a sum total of $78. I would cut down on pitching domains from 12/24 - 1/1 though, for obvious reasons.

Present it to them as a write-off for their business for this tax year with the assumption they are going by calendar year for their fiscal year. It may not sound like much but figure depending on their income that could result essentially in getting even as much as 30+% back from the purchase in tax savings.

I agree with Steve, present it as a business expense which can be written off. Also, just because they'll likely have a new budget to work with doesn't mean much if there is no room written in for your domain. It would be better to make them aware it is for sale so they can allocate some money for it before they finalize their 09 budget.

I think late Jan would be the best time to do business, after new president and holidays
