Announcement: END USER SALES MONTH 2007!

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Hi folks,

Some of you may remember that I declared last February to be End User Sales Month. A good thread developed around that idea (see it here).

Now it is once again February. Time for End User Sales Month 2007!

It's time to stop selling only to other domainers [for small profits]; time to start selling to the guys at the top of the food chain.

Repeat after me:

"I, [your name here], pledge that I will make a real effort this month to find potential end users and to sell them one or more domains for real money."

If you want to join this movement, drop me a PM. I'll keep a chart at the official End User Sales Month website, EUSM.info. (Unlike last year, I won't list the actual domains, just in case those pesky end-users know how to use Google.)

Let's make progress (and bucks) together!

Cheers,

Dave (a.k.a. randomo)
Founder & president-for-life, End User Sales Month

P.S. Last year, my end-user efforts in February didn't pay off. But I've got a strong lineup of suitable domains this year ... some of them should be a slam-dunk, with the right marketing!

I am only selling to end user, because resellers dont want my domains for $10.

How do you find your end users? By listing on Sedo, etc. or you contact companies who might be interested?

hmmmm, please explain, what is an "enduser" ???????? :)

OK - everybody who joined End User Sales Month 2007 so far is listed at EUSM.info. Let me know when you contact end users, when you receive offers, and when you make sales!

(Note that you're supposed to stop selling only to other domainers. You can still sell to them too, as long as you're also making a push for end users.)

We can do it! Yeeeeaaaahhhhh!

Cheers,
Dave

Anyone know where to get an 'end user awareness' pin ? :hehe:

OK - Jasdon & adiboy, you're on the EUSM.info list too.

I reg'd a nice end-user .com today - not a high-dollar one, but should be a relatively easy sale. (The end-user I'm planning to contact already owns the .net/.info/.biz/.us versions of this domain [which is the same as the name of their business], so the .com should be worth something to them! It's a common term, and they apparently don't hold any trademark.)

Good luck all,
Dave

I pledge to sell at least one domain to an end user this month! :)

OK - I just sent my first February offer to an end user. That's why there's a "1" in the "Buyers Contacted" column next to my name at EUSM.info.

Jasdon has also been keeping me updated - he's sent 37 inquiries out and gotten 2 replies. (No sales yet, but we're all hopin'!)

Everybody else: please let me know how your end-user efforts are going, so I can keep the chart updated - and so we can all provide advice and encouragement for each other!

Cheers,
Dave

why not:) I want to join your movement too!
I have sent over 50 emails in the last 2 days for Bookmaker(dot)st, I've managed to draw the attention of 2 buyers so far and the price climbed to $250 with 5 more days left to the end of the auction

That's great! I will add you to the chart soon.

Can you please tell us something about the emails you sent? How did you find potential buyers? What type of things did you say in the emails? (How did you explain the .st extension, for example?)

Thanks!

Ok,

here is a sample mail I have sent. I have contacted bookmaker review sites by 1. searching for them at google, yahoo and msn, and 2. By following links within other bookmaker review sites.

Dear Mr. xxxxx,

My name is Petros xxxxxxx, owner of the domain name Bookmaker(dot)St. This domain name is currently on an online auction, ending in approximately 7 days. The auction is taking place at SEDO, the largest online domain name aftermarket, and maximum bid at the time of writing is only $70, no reserve price.

I believe that Bookmaker(dot)St is a domain name that can do wonders for a website such as xxxxxxx.com and that is why I have carefully selected you along with a small number of other parties who I'd like to invite to this exciting auction.

You can visit the online auction for Bookmaker(dot)St at http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=e&auction_id=5166&tracked=&partnerid=28441

I will briefly explain why this domain name is extraordinarily valuable and will describe a few positive aspects that emerge from owning Bookmaker(dot)st. After that, I will leave any decision to you.

1. It is 100% descriptive and specific for your business
2. It's a single word domain name, a fact that boosts it's value as a domain name for many reasons. The most important is that single word domain names hold enormous Search Engine Optimization value, as search engines will boost your ranking for the "Bookmaker" keyword, which so happens to be the most frequently used keyword when it comes to sports betting.
The word Bookmaker brings 3,550,000 results in Yahoo, 2,720,000 in Google and over half a million results at MSN. You know how difficult it is to get (and hold on) to the top positions with "Bookmaker" as your keyword. Having a domain name such as the one I'm offering, will give you an extra edge against your competition when it comes to search engine optimization.
3. It is very memorable and extremely brandable. The .st extension can be branded as "site" and Bookmaker(dot)St can be branded as "Bookmaker(dot)st - The Bookmaker Site"
4. Imagine the prestige you would radiate with an email like CEO@bookmaker(dot)st on your business card.
5. Last but not least, ask yourself one question: "If I let this opotrunity go, would I want my competitor to have it?". The answer would most likely be "No", but it's a very likely scenario, as there is already an interested party who made the first bid.

I trust that you will make the right decision for the best interest of yourself and your business. For any questions, feel free to contact me by phone anytime during the day, GMT+2, at +xxxxxxxxxx, or anytime on this email.

Kind regards,
Petros xxxxxxxxxx

"I, -DL-, pledge that I will make a real effort this month to find potential end users and to sell them one or more domains for real money."

Excellent Idea and thanks for the motivation!!
This was the virtual kick in the *ss I needed to move more in this direction.
Add me to the list and I will let you know my progress.
Cheers

PS I sent a nice email to a company with the initials of a great CC.net I own but after no response did not follow through with more effort.
