Sedo 10,000 USD limit question...

Sedo has a 10,000 USD limit.

What happens if your domain name could be worth more than that and you want to be able to accept offers above $10,000.

I don't want to set a price on my name - I just want to see what kind of offers come in.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

If you want a higher initial listing price, you have to send your names to a Sedo rep.

But I've also been told, that you can set it to make offer beginning at 10K, then counter with something higher if an offer does come in.

I also change the currency to EUR. So 10,000 EUR is about $13,000 USD (varies based on exchange rate fluctuations)

The problem is not just setting the price of your domain above 10K.
The bidders must also be certified in order to bid over 10K.

I have seen at least one nice domain underselling because the bidders were stuck at the 10K limit, so the domain sold for 10K. I'm thinking about one nice LLL.com, vowels only, that sold on Sedo a while back.

Personally I have declined completing that certification because the form is so intrusive.

Even in a non-auction setting, it could have the potential to turn away buyers. But you would think if they were willing to spend more than 10K, then they'd be willing to fill out some extra details. Is certification that intrusive? What kind of questions do they ask?

I wonder if you countered above 10K, would Sedo even pass along that counter offer if the user was not certified.

I parked a LLL .sale (normal reg) domain at sedo and the price suggestion was 11,999 euro.

Now I can price it but i wont let me go above 16,777,215 EUR/GBP/USD

Anyone experience the same?

Best conversion rates right now are GBP... Set it to $10k and change to GBP and it will convert to a little more than $15K USD (I believe)...That's the best way to do it unless you contact a rep or Sedo estimates the value over $10k when listing.

Can't you just put a 9,999$ make an offer then counter with 100,000$?
