Hello NamePros community! We are creating a single thread where we can share announcements in, talk about product updates, people can ask questions and host a great discussion on all things domains!
It’s a bit complicated game and not so obvious for most people. I will try to explain in details if you give me some time. Meanwhile you can read my previous posts - especially the last few pages of this thread.
So here is how it works:
1) Same people who manage this account w_w_909b80 create multiple fake accounts. The last one that was obvious enough was j_x_942e4f.
2) w_w account is used to actually win auctions, while the fake accounts (like j_x) are used to set up high proxy bids only.
3) The fake account places extremely high proxy bids, and then the w_w account starts pretending that they are bidding against the proxies. But they never go over the proxy, so that they don’t have to pay the high price. The purpose is to raise the price only.
4) When the auction ends it is the fake account that is winning and Sav can’t collect the payment. So the auction is automatically repeated.
5) The combination of extremely high price plus the fact that the same names are being repeatedly in auctions is making such auctions look suspicious for normal bidders. Legit bidders eventually stop bidding on such auctions which reduces competition for w_w.
6) When the auction repeats a few times, almost no other bidders remain willing to place bids. So the price goes lower and only then w_w will actually buy the name.
7) The last changes Sav made happened to be even more beneficial for w_w and the people behind the account. The reason is that now Sav pre-authorize the bids of lots of other bidders which leaves them with no money to participate in auctions. Which additionally decreases competition and makes end prices even lower.
8) w_w_909b80 and the people behind the account have unlimited budget ulike most other bidders on Sav. So they can afford playing such expensive and time-consuming games.
9) The fact that Sav keeps repeating failed auctions is turning domain names in hostages of the platform. You can’t take your name out of auction, you can’t stop the auction, you can’t choose to not repeat the auction. You can only stay and observe how your auctions keep repeating and every next time, there are fewer and fewer bidders, fewer and fewer bids, and the price is going lower and lower. Until your name is finally sold for pennies.
Good example from today was how they managed to “steal” debt.xyz for $520 USD. A name that the seller registered for $1,250 USD only 10 days ago.
So, dear seller, if you want to thank somebody for your loss of $761 USD (after commissions and withdrawal fees), you should thank Sav. They’re the ones who chose to indirectly back the bidder w_w_909b80 and made it possible for the people behind that account to keep robbing sellers on Sav marketplace. Again congratulations for your loss of $761 USD today!
They are going to add the live chat support soon. Why is there no phone support or even chat?
cool---They are going to add the live chat support soon.

I like Sav alot....!!! Dan should have an auction platform.
Sav should have the make offer feature
Sav and Dan should form a partnership and "Kill" the overrated high fees of GD/Afternic and Sedo

I too noticed but this doesn't mean they are wrong... the user "J_X" ruined most of the auctions recently and maybe out of curiosity he is just checking how far his proxy bids are? Maybe I am wrong, but yes if there is someone who can shed some light is Nick.@Akbarrr I can’t provide proofs because I don’t work at Sav and I don’t have access to their databases. Neither can I check IP addresses or at least the countries bidders log in from... I told Nick about this. If he was interested to go deeper, he could have. He didn’t show much interest. He asked for proofs too. It’s not my job to be detective. And especially to be detective for Sav. I am a customer, just like you. But at the same time I kept observing the strange and illogical behaviour of that bidder. One week he bids $8000 on a name that had obviously high proxy. Next week he won’t even put $800 on the same name. Webdesign.xyz auction just ended. w_w bids were $1777 > $2888 > $3777 > $4300. I am curious to see his bids on the same name next week. Here is the link: https://www.sav.com/auctions/details/590946/webdesign.xyz It is a pattern I observed hundreds of times lately. His behaviour is to say at least suspicious. And if I was at Sav, I would have checked the reasons - even if it was just out of curiousity.
In regards to pre-authorizations. The only thing that I know is that lots of people can’t pay the auctions they won - because Sav are holding their money without any reason. And because of that a few of my names are now back in auctions, and decent buyers’ accounts are being restricted for not paying. Not because they didn’t want to pay, but because Sav made it impossible for them to pay.
They cancelled another auction I was part of and gave a refund because this bidder was part of it: w_w_909b80
1. I sold a domain and SAV and sav sent the payment to me yesterday and today they relisted the same domain for auction again. w_w_909b80 was the winner of the auction.
2. I bought a domain on Dec. 23 and paid for it on the same day. And today they sent a refund. w_w_909b80 was part of the auction.
1. Domain is still in my account. I am just waiting for support to respond.
2. It wasn't a pre-auth. I won the domain auction and paid for it.
What you are saying about w_w and how he is checking how high proxies are out of curiousity is to say at least naive and funny. I mean I am 36 and I don’t believe in Santa Claus anymore. Even at this time of the year.
@Akbarrr OMG, you are not listening to what people are telling you. Please stop with your posts really. You are talking about things you don’t understand at all! It’s the same domain name that @silentg is talking about. He says that he sold a name, he got paid, Sav didn’t transfer the name to the buyer and they restarted the auction. Also good luck with your ticket to support- will take them a while to reply. When I can imagine the number of tickets created over the past few days only. They are probably thousands. Sav will need weeks to only read them.
@Akbarrr Anyway, I am not going to focus on a specific domain name. Hundreds or even thousands of names are paid and not transferred to the buyers accounts. From Sav will have to do it manually now, name by name. Just how they will have to take calculators and start calculating who owns how much to whom. Auction by auction. Sale by sale. Transaction by transaction. Because they screwed the whole system with their quick and reckless changes. Because the changes they implemented are creating more problems than they are actually solving. And this will become very obvious, very soon. The website is in total chaos.
Pre-Auth - All pre-auths are voided upon auction completion. We send them to your bank immediately, but it may take them a few days to process them, especially when they may be closed for a holiday like Christmas or New Years. If you are the high bidder and there is a pre-auth for your bid, that will be used to pay for the auction. You will not be charged again.
That is right. We hope to be able to launch that next week. You said you will make some changes to pre-auth about once a user is outbid and his pre-auth will be voided....
