Anybody know excactly when .mobi's that resolve to parked pages such as Sedo's and Godaddies parked .mobi pages will be cut off? And does that mean that you loose your domain automaticly in that case? Or do you get a chance to develop it before they finally take it away from you? Anyway I can impossibly develop all of my 70 .mobi's right now. I had hoped to develop some of them slowly over a period of a few years and keep the undeveloped ones parked in the meantime.. I have some I regged for the full 2 year period and I just feel that having them cancelled by Mtld now because they are still parked is a bit harsh considering I PAID FOR 2 YEARS ONLY TO NOW HAVE THEM TAKEN AWAY FROM ME.
And there must be thousands of .mobi's that just like mine are still parked and undeveloped. Will they all be cancelled now?

where did u hear this?
as long as the parked pages are compliant, they can stay that way as afr as i know.
its if they're not compliant it 'may' be a problem

the ones just auctioned have to be developed within a time frame, but they're different

Hi Arnie. You mean it only applies to the ones now auctioned? I misunderstood then. I thought the 6 months period they mention was for all registered .mobi's starting from August 2007 and including all .mobi's already regged right from the start including those in the landrush. That's why I thought it a bit harsh of them (Mtld) to impose these rules now. Also I dont think Sedo parked .mobi pages are scoring a 4/5 it's only a 2/3 so maybe Sedo had better redesign their .mobi parked pages.

I don't think anyone will have their domains cancelled, unless over a long period of time they ignore official warnings by MTLD, addressed directly to their admin contact email address.

That was ONLY for the auction.

I have always read that Sedo is mobi compliant. Thats why I have my .mobis parked with them. So like stated, if the name is parked where they are compliant then no problem.

Who knows Verizon may never police this anyway.

As far as the names that were just sold on Sedo, those names need to be developed within 6 months with some relevant content. What relevant means is anybody's guess.

As for all other .mobi domains, in the future mtld will be checking for compliance of all .mobi sites. They can't take the name away from you, but they have agreements with .mobi hosting companies to be able to shut your site down if you don't comply. This won't happen until you've received several notices and after months of communications. Having a parked page is fine. Having the site not live is fine.

In any event, parked is ok as long as the design is compliant and the content is relevant (which includes typical parked page type adverts).... so Dancecourse.mobi can be parked as long as it doesn't have ads for diesel fitters & sea fishing for example...
