Atleast thats what I'm feeling. Got some nice names imho for sale for cheap and noones buying $hit?

But......... I see people registering new .mobi's and asking what to do with them development wise. Very weird reg's I might add that are imo, not as good as alot of the names for sale on the aftermarket priced to resell.

Hmmm........... :|

It depends what's being sold. Right now what's hot :imho: are LLL's.

Well, to be honest with you, there are only a couple in that list that I'd even consider at reg fee, much less $80...so that may be part of the problem.:imho:

None of these fit what I am doing either.

Thanks all,

Most of the interest shown was for adplace, newplan, structured, flyermiles but no sales.

Its not chosen for me to sell greatly at this time

Maybe this is a blessing of disguise..

let me bring up a thread warning about selling:

http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/31...defense-dotmobi.html?highlight=strong+defense

Remember them thunderous days/signs

----

So is there a crusade against Dot Mobi

Or the highest bosses in that crusade are actually with us..

Or is this like a survival/security game like the mass genocide when the Holy City/Capital of Baghdad was invaded by the Mongols.. who eventually transformed to Islam rebirth with the light within.. chosen for you..

I am sorry friends, I am just looking for the truths in both extremes styles..

I'd like to live on:

Which is why I am invited people to my business security Dot Mobi free movement (See Signature)

Right now, we have 0 members.. except me..

Kind Regards,

Yelo

i'll go ahead and hazard a guess

i think many of us though happy about a lot of positive news are beginning to realize how much needs to be done to bring this thing together and i am referring not so much to getting a lot developed sites which is important but technology ...

affordable, usable cellphones that are internet friendly and more importantly decent affordable internet access plans for cellphones

i live in british columbia and have a number of locally oriented mobi's but not 1 of the 4-5 major wireless companies (telus, fido, rogers, virgin, bell etc) have a decent affordable internet plan ...with these companies you have to buy a blackberry or treo (300-500 bucks) and then pay a boatload to access the web

all other phones they offer (which amount to 90% of their phone offerrings) don't even have true internet access, they have something called the "mobile internet" which is something like aol for cellphones

i could develop all i want and nobody has the tools to get to me, so essentially we just need to sit and wait for the technology to catch up

which translates into buying high-value mobi's not low value development names (i.e. keeping reg fees low as we wait this out)

Yelo: either you love him / her or don't know WTF he / she is saying 99.9% of the time. I'm in camp #2.

I agree that it's a tough sale right now. I had a list of very strong names with no bite. Whatever. I just made a grip at a yard sale. There's my dev money. I'll put up a few I don't mind leaving dangle, but the core of my reg's - ESPECIALLY the early reg's for two years are just going to age and get developed, indexed, ranked.

[edit]I do have to weigh in on some of the more nonsensical reg's - do it - keep doing it - take out ALL the remnants of good names out there. Leave the late comers with nothing but the aftermarket. Oh, be sure to reg for two years too. I will be eagerly awaiting the first of the drops in autumn. :)

[edit #1] at least they move better than .tv's  I can't even GIVE those away ... of course :imho: :)

.mobi bubble popped

Yeah insane prices for .mobi have been paid before it proved itself.... flowers.mobi for $200,000 ! An attempt to hype up the extension but Im afraid it is going to take a long time for it to establish itself if it ever does. Im afraid too few sales of any note and the bubble is popping on this one before our eyes...

I didn't say that .mobi sales weren't solid, I said that they are slowing.

And talk about not being proven .web.com  get over yourself. I doubt if flowers.web.com would sell for $20.00 .. of course :imho:

IMO the bubble is far from popping bud, the big corp's are just getting started, once they have commenced their advertising drive for their .mobi's the rest will follow in a snowball effect!

Sorry my .mobi friends, I have to break my long silence here just to bring out the fact that this fool claimed to have sold poker.web.com for 15,000 British Pounds.

agreed...how can a bubble pop on something that is less than 1 year old and just getting started in the public realm...in the domaining world most mobi fans prolly have what they want and can afford already...

imho

There needs to be a bubble first before it can pop. The volume of sales in the early months I think were largely a result of people capturing premium names in areas they want to focus their portfolio. I have an interest in geo names and that has been the focus of my aftermarket buys and I'm still at it. So much is happening that isn't publicized because of confidentiality in a transaction. It's way too early I think for below average names to see much action in the aftermarket.

Consider what Tim just said. Take the effort to build some of your premium names, grow them into something that contributes to the content pool and helps further the tld to end users. It's not all that hard to do something simple.

It looks like my work is nearly done here in the mobi forums. What was skepticism before is now becoming the obvious. The type of hype discussions that were here 5 months ago..have dwindled to nothing. Yes there is still some trickle of news for mobi but it's not nearly heralded as positively as before. As a matter of fact..I often see negative news for mobi in the guise of positive news for mobile. Yes the argument can be made that one is good for the other but I don't believe it's true. Mobile is moving forward and I believe it will outpace mobi.

As for the core of this topic. Yes...names don't sell. That's been the case for a while it's just now people are realizing how big their portfolios are (200-500 mobi) and they aren't able to sell any for serious value to help compensate all those reg fees. It's a discouraging fact mobi domainers must face directly and honestly. Trendicator's attempt to sell 40+ LLL.mobi's is a good example. When a market is HOT the LLLs sell. The only offers he got were pretty much below the considered market value of mobi.

Yeay!

Seriously, I'm just joking. Keep up the good work Labrocca.

IMHO not only mobi is hard to sell, other extentions too, .COM, .NET, .ORG etc.
