I received an offer yesterday of USD $250 for ProfitPipe.com, a domain that I registered back in 2008. I do have plans for it, but haven't done anything yet. If it's a good price I may let it go..

Is that a fair price for this domain name or should I ask for more?

(I think it's low, but I've been wrong once or twice before in my life...)

Thanks!

I would probably hold out for more but what you have to remember is it IS a solid offer and a good one based on the keywords in the name and EXACT searches alone (of which there are nil), something that rarely comes in this day and age lol

How much would you accept?

Simply take that figure and meet halfway but don't price yourself out of the market, remember also that if you have had it 2 years and haven't done a thing it may be that you simply cannot be bothered in which case you will never get anything done. If he can make use of it then why simply hold him back for the sake of it?

If I had a solid offer like that for mine I would possibly take it or at least renegotiate 20% higher to $300, and use that money to outsource development on something else :)

I rejected his offer of $250, he came back with $500... I really like this domain, but damn. $500 for a domain name is pretty good I think... that's a month's rent right there.

Thoughts?

I have an offer now for a domain for $1000, i can take it now for a confirmed sale BUT i feel the name is worth more....i countered and he stayed at $1000.....In your case he doubled his offer so he DOES want the name. Do research based on his email address and if you truly see yourself devloping this domain counter with $750 so if he backs down you can come back with the $500

Reseller wise that domain is not worth anything near $500. So unless you plan on doing something with the domain, I would take the offer.

I accepted the offer of US $500, he's in Europe so I don't expect to hear from him until tomorrow now. Thanks for the advice!

Everything costs more in europe, good sale for both sides, domain has good key niche uses.

I was planning to use it as a website to promote some IM products, but to be fair, I've left it sitting unused for almost 2 years now so I figured I might as well take a good deal when it comes along.

I'll keep you posted. :)

Congrats Steve. Way to go... I guess after all it was all worth it to hand register the domain even if you let it sit there for 2 yrs.:tu:
