I was on godaddy all day today and ran accross this ad from godaddy. Is this a real ad? lol

If you type in a name that is available it says $8.95 am I reading this wrong?

I've bought domains through Godaddy, and can therefore vouch that it's one of those temporary promos which they do offer every once in awhile. They're not promising that the price will now be $6.95 forever, after all. It also might only apply to this week, so buy while the buying's good. I've never had any problem with them.

As to why the discount doesn't show up right away, that's mentioned in their price promo banner: "Your discount will be applied in your shopping cart." Meaning that after you're done picking out which names you wanted and you go to the checkout to pay for them, the promo dicount will then be shown there.

That would be great. And if the domain points to their server it has to be legit.

There is an ad on the bottom of the thread that said GoDaddy 1.99$ domains. heh.

It is legit - as a temporary promo offer, that is. It also says on their page in big letters that it's for a LIMITED time only.

As to the $1.99 thing, that deal only applies if you buy their PRODUCTS - various domain-related software and stuff - along with your domains. Here's how they worded it: "Get a new domain name, transfer or renewal for just $1.99 with each and every new, non-domain product you buy."
