I just tried to register a .COM domain with GoDaddy, it was available when I put it in my cart. When I checked out, it was still available, and I even paid for it.
Right after I paid, I got a message from GoDaddy:
The following domain name has failed to be registered:
(Domain).COM
Error: (Domain).COM: cannot register - already registered
We will evaluate this error and retry the registration
if appropriate.
If we are unable to successfully register the domain
name, your account will be credited accordingly. Please
allow one business day for the refund to be processed.
Please contact GoDaddy.com if you need any further
assistance:
