I seem to have a problem and I have to find a way to resolve it. Maybe someone can help me.
I own a name at one of the "no name" registrar one often picks up when they buy a name on snapnames. I tried transferring it away this week and it the transfer will not begin because the administrative contact email address is "++++++++++++++++++++++++". Obviously, I went to whois to check it out and it shows no contact information. I then went to the registrar and all my contacts are just fine, as they should be.
I've emailed them several times with no response, except that they received my email and someone will be getting back to me, in English and in Arabic. Friday I called the phone number for them, which I think is in NY or somewhere on the east coast and someone I could barely understand with a middle east accent responded and eventually I figured he was asking for my number so someone could call me back. No call back.
So, if I never hear from anyone, and the contact does not fix itself, is there a procedure to go "higher up" to get it resolved before the name expires in a couple months?
(By the way, I've been transferring hundreds of names away from vendors like these for the last year and I'd say 50% of the time there is some problem or another, usually that there is no way to get an auth code until you contact them through support, and hope they answer. It's been enough for me to stop buying names on snapnames. It's just not worth the hassle.)
